I guess, but in this situation they are getting publicity by squelching current publicity AND some future publicity.  Hype is hype, no matter how small the site.  And the thing was, it was FREE hype for them. 

But really, this is the company that shut down the forum full of people dedicated to talking about and hyping their products.  And they set up a tech forum in its place.

See, I've been in touch with a rep up here, and it's a no comment comment. Now, if that means it's out of his jurisdiction/he knows nothing, I don't know. But that's always a fishy remark to get.
