Got it today, and just caught 3 Lillipups and 2 Patrats. Why? Gotta trade something to Blu for her special eggs. I WANT MY LITWICK ;_;

Taking it slooooow, so I'll tackle the first gym tomorrow.
Hope those Pokemon you get are Pokemon you can't obtain in your version. Otherwise, you're going for the easy route.

Litwick because I absolutely ADORE it, and I don't want to wait for the end of the game to get it. Or halfway through, or wherever.

Pansage, because it's my favorite of the monkeys but I'll end up getting Pansear.
Solosis is White-exclusive.
Tepig is one of the starters I didn't choose.
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

Litwick is good with SP. Atk and has mediocre Speed, but it's not too good on the defensive side.

Chandelure has godly Special Attack, and its speed is actually good enough to be fixable with a Choice Scarf. Also, its defenses aren't super-bad, it can survive neutral attacks.

Chandelure is basically just a slightly slowed down version of Gengar.

That, and you know, the absurd Special Attack.

GARCHOMP, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! THERE'S A NEW NON-LEGENDARY UBER ON THE RISE, AND HE'S GUNNING FOR YOUR SPOT!

Considering Wobbuffet became Uber with Shadow Tag (It was UU in GSC, before abilities, and it didn't get any new moves or anything except an ability in R/S.. Well, there's Encore, but..)

Yeah, I can see it happening. Its defenses are even decent enough. The Uber-standard Special Attack is another reason. It traps something that can't counter it, and eliminates it. I can see it being a good Scizor killer. The standard Scizor can only deal neutral hits against Chandelure, and Chandelure traps it and kills with, well any Fire attack. Of course, there's more than Scizor it can kill. But just using that as an example.

My prediction: Either Shadow Tag Chandelure becomes Uber, or Scizor drops to BL. They can't outclass all Chandelure though, as the ones without Shadow Tag probably still have some counters. I think a Swampert would be able to survive its- Actually, scratch that. Chandelure gets Energy Ball.

Yeah, allow me to think of something that can kill it. Because Rock, Ground, and Waters could, theoretically, except most Pokémon of those types are slow, and Chandelure--ESPECIALLY WITH CHOICE SCARF OH GOD--could hit back HARD with Energy Ball.

And now, the answer to everything. Choice Scarf Starmie proves its worth yet again. A Scarfed Surf would outspeed Chandelure, BUT WAIT. Would Chandelure users take advantage of this, and put enough EVs in Special Defense and/or HP to survive a not-too-powerful 299 Sp. Atk Surf, and then KO Starmie with Shadow Ball?

I'll have to figure out the exact numbers for the OHKO-or-not-OHKO things, but I can see Chandelure being quite the beast. The drawback? You lose 25% of your HP whenever you switch into Stealth Rock.

I'll do more research on this one.

EV investment with a base 60 HP would be a complete waste.
You'd be better off mixing with Def and Sp. Def.

There's gotta be a way to survive Starmie's Surf. Also, no matter how low base HP is, investing there makes you bulkier both physically and specially. It's always better than mixing Defense and Special defense, since you can get relatively the same  bulkiness with less EVs.

Unless you decide to be "unique" and run Pain Split.

LOL. Try telling that to Shuckle, one of the most pathetic HP holders in the entire series.

Well, there's always the option to throw in Calm Mind for buff on the special side.
Don't forget that there are potentially deadly RKers such as Weavile that could wreck havoc for the ghostly lamp.
Choice Banded Night Slash would likely 1HKO it if Chandelure has improper bulk investments, but we would likely need to see a live demonstration for that.
