Both are me running the game with an emulator. I'm running the second one at 3x the normal resolution with some anti-aliasing, hi-res textures, and I replaced the textures for the items with official artwork.
The first image is running it with no enhancements, except for a hack that makes it widescreen. It's basically what it would look like if you could play it on the Gamecube in widescreen on an HDTV.

The only bad thing about the widescreen is that it stretches the HUD a bit, but I'd rather have that than black lines. ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

I did it from my house to Honolulu and it took me up to that bay in Washington state where I should board a ferry and ride it to where the bay meets the ocean, then kayak to Hawaii.

Unless I'm remembering wrong. Maybe it was US to Japan, or Hawaii to Japan that specified that I take a kayak.
