Just started Borderlands for the first time, as my friend has lent me GOTY edition. It's all the repetitiveness of playing an MMO by yourself, with all the repetitiveness of playing a shooter with 3 strangers!

Seriously though, it's fun; I just wish the PS3 had the power to do 4-player split-screen, or at least let me bring a single guest to an online or LAN match.

I got bored of Borderlands pretty quickly. I'm stuck at some part where I have a vehicle that shoots things. I dunno.

I'm honestly surprised it's as popular as it is; it seems like only a very small audience would play without getting bored...

I thought it would be like the Fallout series, being post-apocalyptic and an RPG, but it felt...empty and boring.

Borderlands combined dry humor, Fallout 3, a poopastic story, and World of Warcraft to make an amazingly mediocre game.

People mostly love it for the multiplayer and humor. I'll admit, it was pretty fun to play with friends. The random weapon generation is a nice idea though.
