Pyro's gender wasn't revealed. The virgin fanbase is extremely rabid about the Pyro being female, but considering the noises the Pyro makes and the Pyro's bodytype, its extremely difficult to picture it as a female.

Even with all the evidence to the contrary these people are ferocious when it comes to asserting the Pyro is female. These people are completely idiotic.

Oh, and I heard that in the annotations, the Pyro is referred to with both gender pronouns, making it even worse. But again, do people really care this much?

Valve said for a fact a while ago that every character is male, and that the whole fun of pyro is not seeing his face, so I don't get what the deal with those people is. As far as the girly hats are concerned, his video clearly showed he thinks he's in sugar rainbow land.
