Ouch, sorry about that man. :(
My dad had stage 4 head and neck cancer and it was pretty rough. Stay strong and do your best to support her.
Did he survive? What ended up happening?

Yeah, he's still fine. He just had to go through years of chemo and wasn't able to do much during that time.
He could only really sit on the couch, we had to feed him through a tube attached to his stomach and had to buy him some crazy liquid food poop. He lost a ton ton ton of weight and it took him a really long time to recover after all of the radiation and stuff was done.
Luckily my mom is a nurse, so she was able to keep a close eye on him and my brother and I were never really left alone with him. We had lots of family over to always watch him and make sure he was doing well.

I also remember money being a problem during the time, I don't really know the details due to my age at the time, but I assume all of these things are very expensive.

I don't know how brain cancer works, but because of head and neck + chemo/radiation it has become hard for him to eat. Like food will never be the same for him as it was before cancer. He still can't eat really dry food, like pizza for example. He can only eat it if he gets extra sauce.
It also tastes dramatically different.

I remember once my mom was at work and my dad started puking blood and it scared me so bad, but that's probably not what you want to hear out of me.
Do you still live at home? If so I'm sure you and your brother will be able to take care of her well, as you were a lot older than I was at the time.

uhh, he couldn't talk for awhile. I would let him borrow my DS phat to write messages on but I think after awhile he switched back to normal pen and paper.

He also can't really remember anything that happened during that time period.

Sorry if I can't remember technical terms or anything, this happened when I was in middle school, so about 8 years ago.

I'm pretty sure he's pretty much back to 100% though. It was just really rough on him for about 3 years. He's coaching a basketball team, teaching my brother how to drive, and he even grew all of his hair back.
Also he gained all of his weight back, and then some. I think he's working on that though.
He told me all of the operations and radiation reduced his life span once before church, but I don't really like to think about such grim things.
When I was a kid he'd always quote some dumb Jiminy Cricket thing where he told me he'd live till 103. I'd still like to believe that, with as little possibility there is of it happening.

Hopefully that helped some. I can try to remember more, but as I said, I was really young with this happened. I just remember being worried and upset at the time and it was always really hard to go to school. Teachers would always ask me about him and stuff and I'd always have to try not to cry, lol.

Also, he's been cancer free and regularly goes back for checkups. So all of the chemo and stuff ended up working perfectly.
My mom also tells me that the doctor he had was the nicest and best doctor she's ever met, so try and get a good one. It probably helps to have a dude in high spirits around during a time like this.

Sounds like your dad was a fighter.

Good to hear chemo works. Often times it just doesn't.

Huh, that was actually really helpful. My mom has actually worked at the hospital where she's being kept for 30+ years, so she's getting all kinds of extra perks and attention. I don't live at home much anymore, only on weekends, due to school. I'm still trying to help however I can, though.

I don't know what freak accident I missed, but it seems Nickelodeon is re-airing old shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Jimmy Neutron, and Invader Zim.

Well, Airbender has a sequel series now (it's on break, but they're confirmed for 3 more seasons), so that makes enough sense. No idea why they'd show Zim, though.

I love how in the ChargeAll GIF, the screen actually says MY CELL PHONE DIED, as if to remind him that it's dead.

I liked it. Though I'll admit they really should have pushed for a 20+ episode season instead of the 14ish episode season we got. Everything felt so...crammed.

There were good things about it and bad things about it.
I don't think it was necessarily bad... it was just bad compared to A:TLA.
