I think the best was smash bros melee. Nothing came close to it for me. Honourable mentions would be: mario kart double dash, nhl hitz 2003,SSX tricky, 007 nightfire, tales of symphonia, and super mario strikers. Those were all good games, and mostly good multiplayer games.

There are lots of Gamecube games that I like, but really only three that I could legitimately deem my "favorites" (in order, by the way): Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4 (scary as hell, but I still love it :D), and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Others that are somewhat close to being on the list include Luigi's Mansion and Harvest Moon: Magical Melody.

Super Smash Bros Melee is definitely one of the best games for the Cube. Some say that it's way overrated, but they just never took the time to get good :P

Its only the best, if your playing with 3 other people. That's the real highlight of the game, playing four player. I play with people for hours sometimes.

Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Megaman Network Transmission, Megaman Anniversary Collection (what can I say, I love the old Megaman), Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Super Mario Sunshine, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
