In one video, metaknight did something similar to a wave dash......but it also may have been his dodge thing.....

I didn't think you could air dash in a direction anymore.

There's new ways. So far they can waveland by using the new L cancelling and an air attack that pulls you in a direction (like Mario's Bair). Since the attack itself pulls you in a direction, if you use it close to the ground you slide in that direction. The new L cancelling cancels all the lag from aerials, so it's basically a waveland.

Characters with double jump cancels might be able to do a really hard wavedash. xD

Being good at it and being good at applying it are two different things. Also, it's understandable if you didn't use it much as like, Boozer, Link or Peach. <___< Otherwise, Wavedashing ftw. xD
