You're my freaking science teacher. D=

Just a note, isn't Aureus supposed to be lowercase?

Also, is it the same kind everywhere? MRSA, or whatever?

I always wash my hands, but as for band-aids those are for sissies.
They're also for people who care about germs...?
If you never get germs how will your immune system get stronger?
That's why my immune system is like, unbeatable. >_>

There are different strains. MRSA is Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, which is resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics like penicillin and methicillin. This is a nasty type, but it can be killed with vancomycin, which is an uber-powerful antibiotic.

There's also a strain called VRSA, which is Vancomycin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. This is the bad, bad type.

There are also some varieties which aren't resistant to antibiotics at all.

Yeah, I got what I was looking for there. I know that there are different strains of the disease, obviously, and you said pretty much everything my science teacher said with the addition of VRSA. For whatever reason, it reminds me of XDR-TB. Maybe that fact that the drugs its resistant to make it fearsome?

In any case, I know that MRSA is the strain going around Illinois. I was kinda wondering whether there were different strains going around different states or if they had the MRSA strain, as well.

I've read up on it. It's for people who live in unsanitary conditions, mainly, or people who use gym lockers often or are in sport teams. Just constant unsanitary conditions is what could lead to the infection. But it can be caused in many ways, some ways are deadly, even. I think a third of the population carries inactive Staph germs inside of them.
