The Grand Master of Terror: Black Shadow

A Few Words From TamJammerz...

Hi, my name is TamJammerz. Back in the old NSider forums, I was known throughout the Smash Bros. Board as "The Great Analyzer" (courtesy of SS_Dan for coming up with the title). I recently heard about the rebuilt NSider Forums, so I decided to sign up... And it seems a few other refugees did, also.

Why did I come here? Well, I came to, once again, spread my analyses for fans of the Smash Bros. franchise... And people familiar with my analyses will also be in for some newer content. I'm now providing a lot more in-depth info, details, and crisper movelists to be coupled with my articles.

This is the 5th Newcomer Analysis in my Newcomer Analyses series. Other Newcomer Analyses include:

1. The Infamous Space Pirate: Ridley

2. The Leader of Star Wolf: Wolf O'Donnell

3. The Lord of Grandbell: Sigurd

4. The Shining Fighter Robo: Ray 01

Who is Black Shadow?

Game/Franchise - F-Zero
Orientation - Evil
Other Info - A central villain in the F-Zero villain and pilots the Black Bull.
Chances of being in Brawl as a playable character - 85%

Black Shadow is a cold-blooded king of evil feared by all and creator of Blood Falcon, who's to kill Captain Falcon. He first appeared in F-Zero X, in which he entered the F-Zero X Grand Prix to "destroy Captain Falcon in front of billions of viewers". However, Captain Falcon has seen much success capturing his foot soldiers, including Jay Gonso Snaky, who was responsible for reincarnating Black Shadow.

In F-Zero GX, Black Shadow lost to Captain Falcon in the Grand Prix. It was then revealed that Black Shadow was working for Deathborn, a superior villain who was part of the dark world.

Machine Information: Black Shadow races in the Black Bull and does so in the Underworld in his spare time. It is an F-Zero machine designed in the secret laboratories of the BS (Yes... BS) Group, an evil organization commanded by Black Shadow himself. The vehicle is very heavy but has advanced functionality, it has a rating of "A" for both Body and Grip, the only vehicle in F-Zero X to boast an "A" in two attributes. It ranks an "E" (the lowest rating possible) for Boost, though.

Why should Black Shadow be in Brawl?

Well, Samurai Goroh would've been the first pick, but because of his downfall (R.I.P. Goroh...), Black Shadow would be next up in the list.

He would fill in for the incredibly small F-Zero and villains roster and would be an excellent addition to Brawl.

Some say that Deathborn is also a viable choice. Although Deathborn is superior to Black Shadow, Black Shadow has still appeared in more games and served as the central villain in most of the games. Deathborn still serves a chance to be in... Just a small one, though.

What would Black Shadow be like in Brawl?

FREAKING SLOW... Ummm, I mean, he'd be pretty slow ;)

With all that bulk, Black Shadow is sure to be a heavy hitter in Brawl and could pack quite a punch. Essentially, he would be the opposite of Captain Falcon, much like Ganondorf (Except not cloned ;))

He would be, again, slow, though. So his comboing ability would be slightly hindered, but he'll be K.O.ing people off the screen quite quickly.

Overall Status

Power - 5/5 (Freaking monstrous)
Range - 3.5/5 (... He has big arms...)
Attacking Speed - 1.5/5 (Lugging around huge girth is hard)
Running Speed - 1.5/5 (Slow... Just slow)
Jumping - 2/5 (It's okay, but again, he's pretty heavy)
Height - 4/5 (Tall)
Weight - 4/5 (Medium-Heavy)

Time for Bullman's movelist... Ready? GO!!!

Movelist

Special Attacks

B: Bull Rush - This attack is chargeable. When released, Black Shadow will leap forward and punch into the ground, creating an explosion that launches enemies back. If an enemy gets in the way of the leap, Black Shadow will immediatly stop his leap, grab the enemy, and slam them into the ground, also creating an explosion. The size and damage of the explosion depends on how long you charged the attack.

Smash B: Bull Thunder - Black Shadow punches once. If the hit lands, then Black Shadow will immediatly go into a series of multiple jabs, trapping the enemy in a barrage, followed by a final uppercut that launches them up.

Down B: Bull Quake - After an initial start-up time, Black Shadow punches the ground hard, creating pillars of dark energy launching upwards around the vincinity of Black Shadow, launching enemies up.

Up B: Vanishing Act - Black Shadow conceals himself in his cape and vanishes. He will then reappear within the same vincinity, depending on how you directed Black Shadow's landing with the control stick. If an enemy is caught in the initial dissapearance, they will dissapear along with Black Shadow and be launched away when Black Shadow reappears.

Final Smash: Black Bull Rush - Black Shadow summons the Black Bull and boards it. Use the following controls to pilot it...

Control Stick/Directional Pad - Movement (Can ram into enemies)
Jump Buttons/Up - Jump
Normal Attack Button - Dashing Attack
Special Attack Button - Shockwave Attack
Special Attack Button (While aerial) - Nosedive attack, followed by explosion
Shield Button - Spinning Attack

The Black Bull will dissappear after a certain amount of time, so make the most out of this "joyride"!

What about Mewtwo he is a villain but he isn't heavy
i wouldnt consider him a villain, he is more neutral than evil.

I think he's the closest thing Pokemon has to a villain

either that, giovanni, or (if you mean a pokemon) groudon...

Dei Enyt

Actually, Groudon and Kyogre just got rude awakenings in the R/S/E games (I don't count movies, since the only one that had anything to do with the series was the first one)
