What do you call them?

I used to name them after myself, but now I use their official name.  :)

I go as far to look up all the names just so I know the story is being told the way it is supposed to be.

Usually their official names. In Zelda games, my first file is my name, and all other files are Link.

In FFCC, I named my characters after past FF characters. Ritz was my female Selkie. <3

I use their normal names (i.e. Link, Cloud, etc.). The only times I don't is when they don't have an "official" name (like in pokemon. Yea they have a name but it's not really a story so it's fine with anything else)
