Am I the only one who hated Silver from sonic 06? Not only does SEGA throw in another new character but they give him a story.
Hello...me and TH have only been arguing that game this entire time. Silver is like Raiden from MGS2....whiney, annoying, uesless, and needed to die. At least they fixed Raiden, but Silver is beyond saving

I guess you get annoyed WAY too easily.
Raiden was cool. Even in MGS2.

How was he whiney?
I never heard him whine in the game.....

plus, he kicked Solidus' ass.
Because he didn't know how to do s*** and everything he did was kinda dumb. Why couldn't they have just let us use Snake the ENTIRE game?
I don't get annoyed too easily, you just love anything developers will give you...even the crap stuff...

um...no.

I only stated that I also liked Raiden in MGS2...
So I guess that automatically means that I love everything developers give me in games.
There are many things I don't like that developers put in.

in any case.

It's my opinion.

so meh.  >:/

like what? You seem to be okay with Sonic 06 which I'd have to say 97%+ of the gaming population hates with a passion X_X;;

not really....
Glitches suck
Conrols suck
long loading screens ftl.
Story is pretty dumb.
NO HUMANS IN SONIC GAMES.

I like Sonic 06?
Did I say I liked it before?
If so, I meant the oppposite... :X

My opinions on a few things:

Sonic 2006:
I've honestly never played it as I don't have 360 nor PS3, so I'm going off of what I do know of it.
I don't think anything as ridiculous as a relationship between unrealistic hedgehog and human should be seen as a huge downside to the whole game.
I'm fine with the design of eggman though I do prefer the appearance in other games better.
From what I know, I think I'd like it much more than Shadow or Secret Rings. Seems a little like Heroes to me in a few ways (being a not-quite-Adventure 3D game, lacking Chao, glitchy, etc).

Secret Rings:
I played enough of it to beat final boss and get a few more unlockables afterwards but haven't even considered touching the game since
Absolutely horrible Sonic game, easily the worst.
Multiplayer mode is too much of a Mario Party rip-off
Level up and skill system sucks and should never exist in a Sonic game. (well, of course skill should belong in a full-fledged RPG like the upcoming DS one)
Does not, at all, bring Sonic "back to his roots" and actually strays the furthest that an action Sonic game has from the roots
Absolutely horrible storyline and cutscenes
Controls suck and moving in reverse is so hard it might as well not be possible
In relation to classic gameplay, the only two directions you're able to control (steering left and right) don't even exist in the 2D games as they just have the foward and backward and Sonic is easily able to change direction instantly
Sonic should NEVER automatically go foward during gameplay.
The game's control style allows for basically no freedom. A major part of the Genesis, Adventure, Rush, and basically every other main Sonic game is the freedom of movement and roaming which this game lacks.
Other than not wanting those other characters to be screwed by this game alongside Sonic, I would have wanted more playable characters than just Sonic. Or at least more old characters in the storyline, and no, completely unrelated characters that just happen to look almost exactly like the well-known Sonic characters don't count.
Forward movement is automatic and hard to stop while backwards movement is very hard and camera prevents seeing anything behind you and changing direction is completely impossible. A big wtf for this trying to be a Sonic game while having these.

Heroes:
I played though pretty far but never finished getting all Chaos Emeralds.
I like how Metal Sonic was brought back.
I don't really like the Chaotix missions.
WHAT THE FUCK IT DIDN'T HAVE CHAO I EXPECTED THIS GAME TO HAVE CHAO SINCE THE SONIC ADVENTURES DID
I believe it's the most glitchy Sonic game I've played (well, I'm not sure what was a glitch or not in Secret Rings so it could be that)
I don't like some parts of the team system, especially flying since all the characters stack and the flying attack can't even damage. I prefer the characters being controlled seperately, though team system could have been worthwhile if it was done better. I also hated how CPU-controlled characters die so easily on that casino level.
The biggest disappointment I've ever gotten from the Sonic series because of lacking Chao and missing a few other things I liked from the Adventure games.
My favorite non-Adventure 3D Sonic game.

Secret rings has been the only sonic game that I have come to expect, Where you can actually go fast. I despise the adventure explorer sonic games, because that isent what sonic is supposed to be. Hero's was good but you dont get that much of a thrill playing it.

I didn't like it in adventures either.
Maria and Gerald are an exception.
They were cool. yet, they are both dead in the present timeline.

Where you typed "expect", did you mean "respect"? Your post doesn't really make sense otherwise.
Why aren't the adventure/exploring Sonic games "what sonic is supposed to be"? Only basis I've seen used for what Sonic is "supposed" to be so far is the classic genesis games, and those have quite a bit of exploring at least the first time you play each level then later on you can replay the levels or the entire game while speeding through to get record times. The Adventure games follow that same thing. Secret Rings, on the other hand, has you only speeding through the level with lots of strange things like missions, abilities, pre-set and generally straightforward path, level ups, steering wheel controls, etc.

You go fast in all the other games if you're good and the people poor at the game tend to be slower. Secret Rings just makes Sonic run fast whether you like it or not.

If you equip the right abilites he doesn't run too fast, and if you do one particular ability (you get it early, can't remember name), it lets you brake really easily. Most people tend to like Secret Rings because it's just click what you want, and go in a level and do it. The adventure games have a knack for doing uneccessary things at times (hub worlds, extra missions that make no sense, etc.)....well I suppose SR does that second thing, but I digress. Sonic games are supposed to be go in a level, run really fast to make it to the end. Recent Sonic games have gotten in the way of that by doing lots of pointless stuff (Sonic 06, Heroes, etc.). That's why the Advance series was so good because it did what Sonic was liked for.

I agree to that. I remember Sonic as a game that will only go level to level and it was very fast paced. But the new ones don't have that anymore and you have to do all of this other stuff. That's what turned me away from the series in the first place. The originals were simple...Challenging but, simple.
YOU DON'T MESS WITH THAT!!!!

Tupin

Oh, and I also hated that the levels in Sonic and the Secret Rings didn't advance the story at all. All it had was one level that was interesting and cool and 6 others of "Don't break the pots" and "Collect 50-100-150 rings".

Sonic games should be running from left to right with the occasional choice of a path.

Oh, and characters like Big need levels that fit in a Sonic game. Maybe he uses his fishing rod as a grappling hook?

I actually liked secret rings. :| There really isnt a sonic game i dislike save for Zero Gravity and Labyrinth.

Going so fast in 3D where you can see where you are going has never felt so good! And the levels seemed more fun to replay because there are a ton of ways to do them.

And I also see how it goes back to the roots a little bit. Sonic was about going from the beginning to the end as fast as you can without being able to move around in a full enviornment (there was exploring in the old Sonic games?), they just added more scenery and the ability to break and go. Speed Break and Time Break are also imo Sonic's coolest moves he has had in a 3D sonic game. Especially Speed Break, you go so fast you go right through everything! no stopping you. I think that this Unleashed game is a mix of Secret Rings and Rush because both of those series' really helped bring Sonic into the new era where he should be: where camera is not an option, just go. And it looks like you cant stop in it either. :)

Take out the 3D thing are you sounding like Amy in some episode of Sonic X.

I admire your fervor for Sonic, but I'm afraid you're going to receive a *Shifty eyes* Du du dun! A long discussion from yours truly, Mr. Nayrman.
