Well, it is true. Most use gamecube because they don't want to go and learn a new control setting. They just wanna jump right into the game. Oh, and I`m not saying I`m sticking up for them. I use a VC controller, and all my friends use gamecube (one sometimes switches from GC to VC). Like you said, using a wiimote is hard, and yes, using any other control type is hard, but it kinda makes me wish nintendo didn`t put in GC compatablility. It`s hard knowing your opponent already has an advantage over you, even though you didn`t even start fighting. :( I can see why your friend doesn`t want it so much. :(
Sideways Wii control is awful.
Good luck convincing your cousin. Smash Bros was meant for the GC controller. Not the wii remote.

I dissagree. I use the Wiimote/nunchuck (customized a bit) and it feels way better than a gamecube controller. Its almost the same as a cube controller but spaced out more and feels better in hand.
I haven't even tried the Wii remote or the VC controller. I just use my gamecube one. It's probably the easiest, and I'm used to it. :)

I tried the Wiimote, but not the VC or Nunchuk. The jumping on the wiimote is a little but of a pain to put it lightly, as you need to tap up. I don't think that D-pad was meaint to go multiple ways, otherwise, GH3 wouldn't have just Red on it (star power's on it too, but when do you press red and star power at the same time?).
I just tried it again. It was worse than I thought :(
Why should your cousin care how other people play the game? If he would rather use the wiimote, then that's what he should do. He's boycotting it for a stupid reason, especially because no one else is going to stop playing just because he refuses to. I use the GC mostly, but I am comfortable with the sideways wiimote. I've never tried the nunchuk, and I don't have a VC, but I'll try the nunchuk version out next time I play.

Its hard to explain but to me when I use the wiimote the feel of it seems extremlly similar to the gamecube contoller, like the controls are in the same place, Idk maybe im just weird but thats how it feels like ;)
I use Sideways . . . it's just one of my controllers is messed up and it jumps for no reason
i use wii mote with nun chuk i like it much better then Gcube
I still use Cube. You get used to it when you've been playing Melee for six years. But I'm trying to learn the wiimote + nunchuk. It'd be better if C-sticking was easier.

But you're used to the gc controller more so wouldn't you be better with that than anything else?
I do pretty good with the wiimote. I am too lazy to get the gamecube controller, so I just learned teh controls to the wiimote

I tell him he's too cheap to buy it, he goes "No, it's ruined with the GCN controller" and, when I beat a level 7 computer "it didn't count because it's with a gamecube controller" and I think he tried to assume that real Brawlers play without the gamecube controller and that his oppinion is the right one. if anything real brawlers do play with gcn controller cause its from hard core melee fans
The GCN controller is the best.
It doesn't matter if it is a Wii game.

Okay, that's going to far for him. :S Sure, GC gives you a head start, but it doesn't mean he should act like that.

Well, Wii remote and Nunchuck isn't that bad, actually, just Wii remote sucks, so the only two good ones are Classic and GC, and I'm not fond of the Classic.
I haven't even tried any other controller besides the Wiimote and Nunchuck. I think its more comfortable. I might try my GC controller though.

I can understand if his hatred for GC controllers originated from a few cocky players. But if it's just the idea of using an old controller on a newer system... I don't really see what could be so upsetting about that.

Ok I just read some more of what he said and now I can say that he's dumb and I disagree with him completely.
I play with the Wiimote/Nunchuk controller, but sometimes I switch to the GC controller. At first I played with the sideways Wiimote, and I'm sorry, but it sucks. I feel like there aren't enough buttons in the setup to do anything lol. But anyway, I can't really decide on which controller I like better.
My favorite controller is definately the Nunchuck.
Oh, and by the way, I'm finally back! After www.nsiderforums.net stopped working, I had no idea how to get here, but someone gave me an e-mail saying where to find it! Oh, and whoever sent me that e-mail, thanks for the heads up!

I use the GCN, but Classic is more set up for people that use a button to jump rather than tap-to-jump, because A,B,Y, and X are set up easier for the thumb to press. Otherwise, there's no difference to the Classic and the GCN, other than size, which is a small reason why I use GCN.
