Being on here, you are kind of exposed to things you normally would see, watch,do.
Like some of the anime I've seen on people profiles etc, or have heard people talk about.
Its not like I've never seen any, I was treating watch as in to see many episodes or watch a series.
Well, some series are short, some are long.

I don't read Japanese.
Ummmm... lets think.
How about one I just saw in a profile, on this site, that has to do with some kid inheriting a mansion staffed with hundreds of maids and he is being watched by some evil organization or something?
I'm combining imaginative with weird, because I don;t like the stuff.
So, not really an unbiased opinion.

That's pretty much the definition of "biased". Who's profile had this? And how did you know what it was about, even though you can't read Japanese?
English subtitles?
yep. Best way to get pictures from anime is to watch them yourself, then get the specific pictures you want by taking a screen shot.

We'll find out as soon as he responds, but does anyone here have a full episode of some anime in their profile?
He (Miiman) used to, 1 was completely awsome, 1 showed awsomeness, and 1 did awsome things
Is this what Hector was talking about?
IDK, I didn't read the whole thread. What was he talkin' about? (Too lazy to check)
He was pretty much saying all anime was weird with little evidence to back him up.

So?
Does that mean all other anime can't be weird?
As a whole, I don;t like the stuff, and was joking around in this thread due to that.
The Anime was in a profile, it has English voice acting, but everything else was Japanese, logo, text in the show, etc.
Therefore, I could understand it.
I don;t like the kind shows with totally random, senseless, and confusing antics that are present in some of the more popular ones people watch.
My opinion, So I'm finished talking about it.
But I have another example. :P

A dub advocate?! Get it away get it awaaay
I say if you're not willing to enjoy the Japanese language and read English subtitles while watching it as it was intended to be watched (in Japanese), you shouldn't be watching anime, or at least you should be reconsidering your true feelings toward it. Anime is best left alone and not in the hands of dubbing companies, who will screw it up somehow even if they do a good job.
Part of watching anime is to soak in Japanese culture and to feed your love for it, and if you watch it in English...well, you're missing the point.

True, but it's funny when they say something hilarious in japanese and you hear what it sounds in english.
I think FLCL is a good exception to the rule for watching anime. >_>
The versions ARE different but because of the subject matter and the quality performance of the English actors, I find the English version of FLCL to be very well done. The guy involved with the Japanese one was even around the English voice actors because EVERYONE wanted to make it perfect. And they succeeded. :3

The main character guy.
I saw some of the later episodes in English... and he goes mentally unstable.
Pretty freaky stuff.
wat
If I understand things correctly, no such English episode(s) exist.
Near the middle of the series he gets a little cucu.
And also watched the last episode with subtitles, well a little of the last one anyway.
It sounds like you were ahead of the regular US viewers. Might you be British or something? Because if it was near the middle, Light hasn't gone insane yet.
Are you talking about death note?

True, but it's funny when they say something hilarious in japanese and you hear what it sounds in english.
uhh...isn't it more funny if the sub retains the original pun or whatever and explains it?

I think FLCL is a good exception to the rule for watching anime. >_>
The versions ARE different but because of the subject matter and the quality performance of the English actors, I find the English version of FLCL to be very well done. The guy involved with the Japanese one was even around the English voice actors because EVERYONE wanted to make it perfect. And they succeeded. :3
