As a whole, I don;t like the stuff, and was joking around in this thread due to that.
The Anime was in a profile, it has English voice acting, but everything else was Japanese, logo, text in the show, etc.
Therefore, I could understand it.

Yet it had English voice acting?

What did Naruto come out in originally?

Japanese, why?

So the language I watched it in is irrelevant, since we can assume it was made in japan.

And the theme song was Japanese =p
You know what?
I bet there is some quality stuff out there.

I say if you're not willing to enjoy the Japanese language and read English subtitles while watching it as it was intended to be watched (in Japanese), you shouldn't be watching anime, or at least you should be reconsidering your true feelings toward it.  Anime is best left alone and not in the hands of dubbing companies, who will screw it up somehow even if they do a good job.

Part of watching anime is to soak in Japanese culture and to feed your love for it, and if you watch it in English...well, you're missing the point.

True, but it's funny when they say something hilarious in japanese and you hear what it sounds in english.

I think FLCL is a good exception to the rule for watching anime. >_>

The versions ARE different but because of the subject matter and the quality performance of the English actors, I find the English version of FLCL to be very well done.  The guy involved with the Japanese one was even around the English voice actors because EVERYONE wanted to make it perfect.  And they succeeded. :3
