IT IS A FACT.
Or maybe you don't think so. In which case, you better have a good reason, because most third parties have sucked and we all know this. Konami only made a handful of great games, Rare now only makes poop, etc.
Don't say Sega because they were only awesome when they were making their own stuff for their own consoles.
But anyway, discuss Capcom. Personally, I love the company mostly for Mega Man and Street Fighter, but we also need to keep in mind that without Capcom, the amazing Oracle of Seasons/Ages games wouldn't exist.

Oracle games owned, Mega Man was fun until they hit 7-8, Street Fighter is still good (But there are too many versions of the same game!), Phoenix Wright is hilarious and fun, and Minish Cap was fun. (But innacurate.)
Sega reigned with the Genesis, but after the Saturn failure, their games SUCK.
Rare is still around!?
Konami doesn't make that many great games, but they're still good...well, some of them.
So you're right; it is a fact. But nowadays their Mega Man games aren't doing that well.
What about Marvel? :)
Marvel vs. Capcom 2, X-men legends 1 & 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, etc.
Megaman was good until the Megaman Legends series. Street Fighter is still good, but they're doing too many remakes of the same games (like MasterYoungLink said). Viewtiful Joe...the games are good, but the Anime sucks. Resident Evil is awesome. I haven't played Phoenix Wright or Zack & Wiki yet.
Rareware is OK, Conker: Live and Reloaded wasn't a very bad remake, and Viva Pinata was quite fun. Other than that, Rareware has just been sucking lately.
Sega still makes some good games every now and then (like Sonic Rush, Shining Force Neo, and Sega Superstar Tennis), but I think Sega was the best during the Genesis, Master System, and Dreamcast days.
Konami just ruined Frogger now by turning him into an adventurer so that kids will like him. Frogger was great during the old Arcade game and the early 3D Frogger games (Frogger 1 and 2 on PS1 and PC). Frogger's Adventure: The Rescue was OK, but now his games completely suck. At least Konami didn't ruin MGS like they did with Frogger, but Konami still isn't an excellent video game company.

Namco has Soul Caliber, and Atari has DBZ. As well as thier earlier works.
Yep.
You know Rare sucked when their first non-Nintendo game was Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Since then, only Viva Pinata and Conker: Live and Reloaded were any good.
SEGA hasn't made a truly awesome game in years.
Konami at least has Contra.

Rare's actually a second party, if that wasn't established yet. They have an agreement to make games for the DS, but M$ gets the money apparently. But yeah, their work is definitely not like it was back when they were with Nintendo.
I haven't really played many third party games recently, so I can't make a fair judgment.
