360-

Hmmm. Shooter, Shooter, Shooter, Shooter, Shooter, RPG, Shooter....
RRoD at 33%
HI GUIZ I'M A ANNOYING 12 YEAR OLD OLOLOLOLOL
Halo.
PS3-
Pros:
Best processing out of all the consoles.
Blu-ray included
Usually has the same exclusives as the 360
Basically a giant Zune/iPod for features
Cons:
$50 for that controller?
Where are the PS3 exclusives? No, the GOOD ones.
Only the size of a small PC!
$400
PC-
Pros:
Best control and biggest library of games ever
Can run INCREDIBLE graphics
Custom maps
Can use Steam, so y'all don't have to leave yur seats.
Customizable controls
Other uses than VIDYA GAEMS

Lag applies to any online system.
Vista isn't needed to run the current online gaming behemoths (Orange Box, World of Warcraft namely)
You don't need a PC to be portable, because you can connect with anyone you want incredibly easily.
PC wins.
also, you can't put "It's fun" for the Wii, because that should apply to all of them.

Overall good post, although I have to disagree about the "all are good and bad" in terms of the handheld market.
Frankly the DS is by far the better system (IMO anyway).
And some consoles in the past have had no cons (Saturn, Phantom, CD-i, just to name a few)

No cons? I assume you meant no pros, considering you put "CD-i."
And you obviously know nothing about the Saturn if you think you can put it together with that other slop. The Saturn renders 2D far better than the PS1, so every single 2D game that was on both of them looks better on the Saturn. The Saturn also features the best load of shmups and is incredibly easy to use as an import system. Plus you've got the most kickass rail shooter series ever, Panzer Dragoon.
Here's an idea...try owning a Saturn before bashing it. It's a weak system compared to something like the SNES, sure, but it's nowhere near as bad as you think.

PS3 has only 3 good exclusive games:
Ratchet & Clank Future,
Warhawk, and
Metal Gear Solid 4. That's it. Plus, the console costs more and most of the good games on it can also be found on Xbox 360, so that's why I bought an Xbox 360 instead of a PS3. And 360 has better exclusive games anyway (
Bioshock,
Eternal Sonata,
Blue Dragon, etc.)

SNES
Pros:
AWESOME games!
LOTS of games!
Turns yellow from smoking around it.
EARTHBOUND!!!!!!
Durible. (Or at least, mine was.)
EARTHBOUND AGAIN!!!!!
As I remember, it wasn't TOO expensive.
Wide variety of game geners.
Could support some pretty big games. (Earthbound, Super Mario All-Stars, etc.)

cartridges were by far the inferior technology, and nintendo dropped the ball by using them for the N64.

not only are discs cheaper, they're more easily mass-produceable, hold more storage space, are faster, allow better boxes, have a better storage system (actually IN the case), and are much easier to protect and run.
the only thing that cartridges have on their side is that they don't require something else to store memory on, which is also a downside, because current gen consoles would not be able to run with that small amount of memory that carts have.

Sure, better storage, but who needs storage when all you need to do is blow in it? Sure, the internal battery will eventually die, but I don't see one in a DS cart. Obviously Nintendo sprung an idea.

not only are discs cheaper, they're more easily mass-produceable, hold more storage space, are faster, allow better boxes, have a better storage system (actually IN the case), and are much easier to protect and run.
the only thing that cartridges have on their side is that they don't require something else to store memory on, which is also a downside, because current gen consoles would not be able to run with that small amount of memory that carts have.
sorry, carts are worse in every way except nostalgia.
Cartridges can hold more space AND go faster, idiot.
Sure, better storage, but who needs storage when all you need to do is blow in it? Sure, the internal battery will eventually die, but I don't see one in a DS cart. Obviously Nintendo sprung an idea.
DS game cards aren't really "cartridges," but okay.
I still don't understand what they are, then.
If Nintendo can make something that small that holds, ugh, I can't remember, a Gig, I think? *goes to Wikipedia* two gigs.
Anyway, why don't they just make the card larger, and use that rather than discs.
They are a kind of SD card-type thing
Why make the card larger when a MicroSD can be the size and thickness of a fingernail and hold a gig?
Also those things cost more $$$ to mass produce. It would make games and stuff more expensive.

cratridges are a downside.
How? They may have less memory then CD's, but geeze, the slightest scratch, and that CD is as good as gone! With cartridges, just blow, and your good. :)
i have tons of scratches on my smash bros melee disk. it's all cut up. I've had it basically since launch, and it still runs fine. :\
cartridges were by far the inferior technology, and nintendo dropped the ball by using them for the N64.
However, even if a scratched disc works, discs have been known to develop strange pits and even holes screwing them up if they're really old. Some older DVDs are starting to get weird too.
With portability and storage comes the loss of durability.

That's true. It's good for them, and IMO, bad for us.
Sure, it's cheaper, but, as a generic rule of life is, the more expensive thing is better. I'm not saying that EVERYTHING more expensive is better, but I see this as one of the situations in which it's true.
Discs require loading and a lot of care.
Cartridges do not require loading (technically), and don't need as much care as a Disc.
Discs are cheaper than Cartridges, but that comes at a price. Discs can be gone with a simple scratch, while a cartridge has a lifespan because of the internal battery.
Yes, both have their pros and cons (but what doesn't), but after all that it comes down to opinions. I will always like cartridges.
And also, why make it bigger? Why use Blu-Ray rather than HD-DVD? Blu-Ray has more space than HD-DVD, thus increasing picture quality and the size of the gam in general.
Meh, digital distribution will take over all entertainment like ten years from now.
Sadly.

You would need a big HD on a console to digitally distribute games.

Which is quickly becoming easier and less expensive to do. Tuppy's right. That's the direction that technology is progressing in.

Well, I didn't know discs were cheaper. :-\ That changes everything. :-\
HOWEVER, I do like not having to pay 3 dollars everytime I want my cartridge cleaned. I am not very good with putting things back where they belong, and that leads up to VERY scratched up and dirty discs, and $3 per cleaning per disc, it adds up really fast.
And how are discs easier to protect than cartridges? All you really have to do for cartridges is not put it near anything stupid and don't step on it. Those go for CD's too, but you have to keep it away from dust and scratches too, so I kinda don't get that. :-\
However, I guess discs ARE better. But that doesn't mean cartridges aren't good too! Maybe not as good, but still good! Right?

We have one. It actually doesn't work too well, not for my discs anyway. However, the place we go to to clean our discs does a REALLY nice job! Only things that could not be fixed haven't worked after that place. I would ALMOST say it was worth the $3.
I just spray Windex on them and clean them with a cloth.

Just take a little tab of toothpaste on your finger, and spread it out all over the bottom of your disk, all of it. Then, just wash it off. Works pretty well, surprisingly! :O

yup, but its not hard to protect disk either, when your playing a game, you put the case on top or next to the system, when your done put it in the case that is next to the system... and also dont be a moron and pick up the system with a disk in it or unplug/switch off the system with a disk in it.
