cratridges are a downside.
How? They may have less memory then CD's, but geeze, the slightest scratch, and that CD is as good as gone! With cartridges, just blow, and your good. :)

The internal batteries don't exactly last forever. They're far from perfect.

Yeah, but still, I like the "Use your built in cartridge cleaner" concept. <3

But I wonder, do CD's last forever, as long as they are taken care of? ????

i have tons of scratches on my smash bros melee disk.  it's all cut up.  I've had it basically since launch, and it still runs fine. :\

cartridges were by far the inferior technology, and nintendo dropped the ball by using them for the N64.

Seriously, the only reason they kept them was because they were faster.

Anyway, Nintendo is known for making good discs. My Animal Crossing disc is maybe one drop away from breaking in half and it still works.

The scanners sucked though. One teensy bit of dust and you need a new gamecube.

PC-
Pros:
Best control and biggest library of games ever
Can run INCREDIBLE graphics
Custom maps
Can use Steam, so y'all don't have to leave yur seats.
Customizable controls
Other uses than VIDYA GAEMS

Cons:
Graphics cards are freaking annoying.
Port Forwarding

most people have a PC anyways.
Lag applies to any online system.
Vista isn't needed to run the current online gaming behemoths (Orange Box, World of Warcraft namely)
You don't need a PC to be portable, because you can connect with anyone you want incredibly easily.

PC wins.

also, you can't put "It's fun" for the Wii, because that should apply to all of them.
For the whole family.

Unless you think a 5 year old can enjoy CoD4...

If you've EVER played it on Live, they unfortunatly do to everyones hatred.

However, even if a scratched disc works, discs have been known to develop strange pits and even holes screwing them up if they're really old.  Some older DVDs are starting to get weird too.

With portability and storage comes the loss of durability.

:\

not only are discs cheaper, they're more easily mass-produceable, hold more storage space, are faster, allow better boxes, have a better storage system (actually IN the case), and are much easier to protect and run.

the only thing that cartridges have on their side is that they don't require something else to store memory on, which is also a downside, because current gen consoles would not be able to run with that small amount of memory that carts have.

sorry, carts are worse in every way except nostalgia.
