For a graduation present, my grandpa got me a pretty sweet laptop. It's an HP Pavilion dv6853cl, and it's got 4GB RAM, a 320GB HDD, Vista 64-bit, and 384MB shared (oh god) video memory. It's also got a media center remote, 15.4" HD widescreen, and other stuff. Oh, and a kickass finish.

Explorer will crash all the time, Mozilla and Pidgin both don't work well in Windows, it has issues connecting to the internet, it takes FOREVER to do anything(or compared to Linux Forever), login takes like 5 min, turns off randomly(usually when I'm sleeping or at school), is open to annoying viruses/ad-ware, its not open to be modified if there is a problem, it needs retarded drivers to notice something in USB, and the most annoying thing about it, it thinks it knows better than I do.....like WHAT FUCKING HARD DRIVE TO FORMAT!!!!!!!

You'd need to do it intenionally then, Not even the advanced user would have that many programs on a computer to make it run slower.
Well I'm not doing it on purpose, I'm not the only one with these issues, if you look around on any of the Linux's forums that people have similar problems, and there is a specific topic in the Ubuntu forums that I noticed many of the same problems, the topic had to do with why people left Windows...but if you don't have enough to make Windows unstable then fine use it, but When I use Linux, i have almost no problems, and if there is one I can actually fix it because I can get "inside" and repair the problem.

When I was installing windows I told it to Format the one hard drive. With Windows being Windows it had to have a boot loader on the other HDD, but because it couldn't read the other HDD so it went and formatted it.

I did back it up....but the back up I had on CD Windows decided it wasn't aloud to open the backup files, so I have to use Linux of course to get to those files.
