Any other thing to do other than defrag, disk clean, virus scan, and deleting a bunch of crap?
Oh, and inb4macuser.
(Psst... XP cause Vista sucks, for now.)
Checkdisk or whatever it's called.
Also, maybe do a registry clean/optimize. Careful, though. Screwing with the registry too much is bad.
Open the computer, blow all the dust out with canned air.

CheckDisk? Something on the internet I'm presuming. And I think I'll leave the registry alone.

Wow, that really worked! My computer now runs 50x faster than before.

Fill a bath with soapy water and don't forget to use a sponge.

I think you just go to Run and type chkdsk..I think it might be called Scandisk normally, though.

Meh
Yeah. Remove unnecessary startup programs using msconfig. That should help your boot time immensely.
Also, maybe disable some services that are never used. I think a list of ones that are safe to disable are at www.answersthatwork.com.
Use a true defrag (the one built into the op. system isn't a TRUE defrag. It only identifies the location of the files and indexes them. Comes with Norton... makes the computer run soooooooooooooooooo much faster, it's almost stupid.).
