Title: Your "stance" in school?
Post by: thunderhero4 on July 22, 2008, 12:17:47 AM
Be honest, what do you consider yourself in school?

I am actually very popular, and very much a jock since I do alot of sports, have a pretty nice build, and suck at math. I am also friends with just about everybody in my grade (minus 1 or 2, I am now sophmore) and a bunch in other grades. And also may be dating the hottest girl in my grade (my opinion, I love her so much, she is so cool)

How about you? Are you nerdy, popular, emo, outcast, loner, ect?

Um... nerdy, outcast, and loner? Everything other than popular and maybe emo that you listed.

I'm in the highest available classes for each subject (mostly honors, one AP next year)
I never socialize with other people at school. Ever.
I almost never talk to other kids.
I don't pay attention to the teacher often and instead either do my homework or sleep when I'm supposed to be taking lecture notes.
I get one of the highest grades in my class for nearly every test or exam without ever studying.
I'm best at math and better than most other people in my classes for the other subjects... other than the writing portion of English.
I don't participate in sports.
I don't date people very easily at all. I'd rather stick with one person without breaking up once.

Up until this upcoming year, my school environment's been extremely small, so there was no such thing as popularity.

Emo/half-loner/idiot.

I'm an outcast.
I can get along with people fine, I just choose not to talk to them.

Average.

Not a computer nerd, just a video game addict. :P I have plenty of friends, not popular in the least, but I am in drumline. We have a bit of a bad rep though....especially because of a few things that went around due to some rumors. We took care of them...heh heh heh..

Let me try again.

Be honest, what do you consider yourself in school?
I'm pretty well-known. Knowing people that know people, we all meet up and talk, etc. I'm not the center of attention, but I'm also not the mousy kid that sits in the back during Math eating Fritos.

How about you? Are you nerdy, popular, emo, outcast, loner, etc?
Since all of those fall under "loser", I am going to have to say no.

Loner/Outcast. Don't have many friends. I play cards at lunch but I don't particularly like the people I play with. They're decent I just would never hang out with them outside of lunch.
I only had like 2 or 3 friends in all of high school...everyone was such a intercourse ing twat and moron. Ah well. College FTW

Geek/nerd/crazy guy who isn't with the "cool" program most of the time.

I have a good amount of friends, but we're all either major nerds, major otakus, or major gamers.  Or all three.

I'm "cool". Being a jock isn't a good thing, by the way. Just makes you some retard who can play sports.

Why do you have to suck at math to be a jock?  Can't there be hybrid stances?  Why is American High School so overly social?

Varsity swimmer since freshman year, in top 15% of class, in a band, a few female friends among the male, sometimes has a girlfriend.

Loves video games, hangs out in school library to play on computers, Boy Scout, laughed at/pushed around by jocks.

Lol what HAPPENED.

Uhhh...

I'm sort of like the bridge to the popular and unpopular crowds...
Not considered a nerd, but of course gaming is an addiction to me. <3
Plenty of friends and people who know me, but going to a new school soon won't help all that much.
In decent shape if only by nature's good grace for I don't try to do anything about it.  :D
Smart, but I'm extremely lazy which is going to be a bad thing very very soon. D:

I had a ton of friends, but not a ton of close friends.  I knew probably 80% of our grad class, about 30% of the grade 11s, and maybe 5% of the grade 10s (those I knew I knew from piano, and as a result I was pretty close with).

I was part of the geekish crowd, on the outskirts of the "core christian values" crowd, and also part of the "indie-hipster" crowd.

and I was in band too, so.... yeah.  part of that.

I'm friends with mostly everyone, but i usually only hang out with a certain group of friends, who can be described as sort of nerdy and sort of ignorant.
I'm decently intelligent but very lazy, and i'm good at some sports, but i don't really enjoy playing most sports.
I don't really fall in with any particular crowd...

Usually what happens in school is me and my friend sitting in the back of the class popping out witty things to make the class laugh and piss off the teachers. And then we get thrown out of class >.>;

Eh.
I have a ton of friends, but we're not nerds, we're not badasses, or jocks, we're kinda our own little group right in the middle. I have a few preppy friends, but most of my friends belong from that group.

*had made a post but it got erased when posting due to a connection problem with the forum*

nerd/outcast/loner/and apparently some people think i'm emo (i never thought i was though :-\)

I would be considered a nerd mostly, since i generally get grades in the 90's (i would die if they went below that in my math class, since it was pathetically simple last year :|), love band and choir <3, and can often be seen in the hall in between classes reading some book or manga. I don't generally talk to people in my classes (unless some of my friends are there, or someone starts talking to me), so i'm not very social. Although i noticed i'm more inclined to talk to people in band/choir (or just in a music or art related thing in general :P).

Everyone in our school falls into one of the following:

thugs/whores: There is plenty of ignorance in these people, all they do is scream and shout through the hallways, sell/buy drugs, and reproduce. Not at all the smartest in any class, But they are more popular then the AP kids. Also the most Populated group.

Goth/Emo/: There isn't many in our school, a few in the smart classes, others just don't give a poop about school. Not very popular, though they do get noticed.

AP kids: This is where I'm at. The AP students would have to be the Third most popular group. We are admired for our intelligence. We definitely carry the school. We're a tight group seeing how there is such a small amount of us. We all are good friends and have a few enemies here and there.

Preppy white people: all the preppy kids in our school are white (except one) they are a bit popular but not much. no one cares about them really, though they think they're the poop. Very stuck up.

Seniors: By senior year most students mature into hard working adults. I really do admire the seniors at our school. They are always a close group even though there is so many of them. Definitely the most popular group.

Eh, much like HTA, I am a bridge.

I am among the top in my grade, and score ridiculously high on the Social and English exams, and decent in the Math and Science courses. The fact I had the best marks on all of my CATs (Canadian Tests) in my school is testament to that...

...which is where things get interesting. I do, indeed, get labeled a nerd, and so forth, and some of my friends get it a lot worse, but at the same time I play sports ( I have a thing against teams, so typically fun leagues), and feel obliged to help my moron friends. With that, the same group of people that'd be likely to call me a nerd, are good friends of mine...

...which is weird :x I don't mind labels, but my school's politics are very weird. I am friends with Goths, druggies (these ones particularly like me for some reason), jocks, preps (another group that likes me), nerds...

...I do, however, like it. It means if I need something, it is always at my disposal. My calculator runs out of batteries right before a math exam? I'm set. My hockey stick breaks in two during a game. Set. I need cheap drugs to sell to the preps? Set. :P

Being a bridge is perhaps the best place I could be.

Everyone knows me, I don't know everyone, which sucks major ass. I'm the "super-crazy-happy-fun-smart-nerdy-guy", supposedly, even though there's at least 50 people in my grade genuinely smarter than me. The only thing I really know is computer-type things, but anyone can answer "how i change homepage" or "how i clear history so my parents dun see mah pr0n", which I get asked almost daily in school.

I've got a lot of good friends, but most of them are nerdy.

I actually know a few people who play Warcraft III >_>;

No, its all true, but I did exaggerate a bit of it! :) I dont have a "nice" build, merely avarage. I also found the "secret" to running faster. It looks gay, but you run faster than you ever thought you could.

I am actually almost 0% jock because they usually bully people, where I am a pushover who does favors for everybody, even if I dont want to >_>

And popular doesnt mean hang out with all the "cool" kids (even though those are all my best friends), it means you are very social and you know everybody and they know you.

I always make good friends with my teachers within a week (they all even saw me as more of a friend, which is good) and I suck at math...the others I do fairly well at...

People know me as: the guy that you can make friends with quick and who is always laughing at something, smiling, and making a fool of himself in a different way every day :) I dont want to be known as game wiz or computer  jockey, and I am starting to lose intrest in video games. I know I will play them for fun in the future, but just like my parents told me: Its a sign of maturity". I never believed them, and its different for others, but its starting to apply for me...

So yeah, thats me. Its the 100% truth. I actually have a pretty good self esteem, I am proud of myself and love my parents and friends...

Meh.
I guess I'm popular. Pretty well known, but not social. I don't talk to many people, but just a few friends and my girlfriend.
I'm smart I guess. I've had straight A's since the grade they start doing letter grades in (3rd).
I'm also the kid with the craziest hair ever. :')

Not big into sports. Played football for 2 years, loved it, now I'm moving up into HS, my favorite coach might be leaving, so I'm not playing, along with a few other people, in protest of him getting a gigantic cut in pay.

tld;r people like me but im a computer nerd

Hard to explain really.
I'm not too sure anymore.

If I stayed with my old friends and gone to school with them, I'm pretty sure I would have been considered popular. I was friends with almost everyone in the 8th grade and as far as I know, nobody hated me. People considered me smart since I usually got good grades. Never played many sports though.

Fast forward one year and I'm going to a new school without knowing anyone as a Freshman. I did make some friends eventually, and my group of friends expanded over the year. So far, I'm not popular, but most of the honors people still know who I am. Some of the Sophomores/Juniors (now Juniors/Seniors) knew me as the smart, quiet kid, because I had some classes with only them and I didn't talk much there. I haven't really talked to a lot of my friends after school ended, which sucks. Oh and I'm really the only one in my circle of friends that plays the Wii or maybe even video games as much as I do, so it's annoying that I have no one to play video games with in real life and if I do, they usually suck. I could make friends with the Anime people who mostly own Wiis, but they're just way too weird for me. I'm guess I'm just an average, smart kid who is generally liked. Hopefully I can improve my reputation in school next year, as I won't be so shy.

I have no idea if that made any sense...

Why do you have to suck at math to be a jock?  Can't there be hybrid stances?  Why is American High School so overly social?
All he really proved in that post was that he's a retard who can play sports and date whores.
Yeah, pretty much. Except she is the farthest thing from a whore >:(
Hottest girl in the class who dates jocks. No doubt that she's a whore.

Hm, I guess you could call me semi-popular. I mean, I don't hang out with the most popular group since they do drugs and drink which I don't support. But I have plenty of friends and I try to be friendly and nice to everyone so I don't make any enemies. But I don't really care what people think about me or anything. Just live my life, that's it.

Hey, this is not the place to bring in personal matters.

Stereotypes are not always true either. And also, don't make assumptions.

I get virtually straight A's in all highest available classes, and I'm going to be in Spanish National Honors Society or something like that as a top position there, as I'm about three and a half years ahead of the curriculum there. I could be considered a nerd there.

I also run the fastest sprints in varsity track as far as times go, as well, though, and I will be playing for either the varsity or junior varsity baseball team the next season. So I could be considered a jock.

As far as friends go, I know just about everyone. I have the worst reputation imaginable preceding seventh grade, so I'm not very well liked by a lot of people that knew me prior to that. However, most people I've met recently are friends with me/talk to me frequently. I have one friend who I speak to pretty much every day and everybody who I know that meets us for the first time if we're together thinks we're related by means of a brother/sister connection. Aside from her, I have about a handful of really good friends.

I'm not a loner - I go out and talk to a lot of people and get to be very well acquainted with teachers all the time.

As far as dating goes, well, I suppose I'm still looking for someone to just stay with. I highly dislike one-and-done relationships done for the sole purpose just to say you're going out with someone. Really stupid, in my opinion.

A lot of my habits and preferences can be obscure, though, so some people really kind of find me to be one of the weirdest kids in school for my habits. Ha.

I consider myself to be a little bit of everything. I mean, depending on the person, I can be the nicest guy in school or the meanist. The calmist or the most phychotic. The smartest guy in school or the most arrogent. Seriously, I'm all over the place in school. And people know that, yeah, I'm a nice guy, but I don't take no bull.

When I was in high school, I was basically a mix of everything except for the emo/goth/outcast/whatever branch.

If I had to pick one, though, I'd say jock.

LaAaAaBeEe3lllzzz R 4 $oUp c@nZ ololololol...

- The smart one
- The anime fan
- Hip-Hop street style, though that's about 60% of the school anyways, not including the wannabes
- The goofball
- The one a lot of people know, yet I dunno them 0.o
- The tomboy, athlete
- "Karate Girl" xD
- The one you don't wanna piss off

So I guess it's a mix of everything except for prep/emo/goth.

I graduated a few weeks ago, but in High School I jumped around alot.

I started out my freshman year with my small group of friends, did my ROTC thing, and really didn't do much else.
Each year I progressively became more social, and I knew almost everyone in my HS of over 5000 students, whether they were friends, foes, or acquaintances. I was one of those "everybodies friend" guys, while remaining a 'loser' in the sense that I slept in all my classes, failed classes often (but graduated on time, woot.) and was an ROTC Nazi.

Also, OP is bullpoop.
