The Sandisk Sansa e200 series MP3 player.
My Nano is about to bite the dust, and really getting a new apple product isn't going to happen right now.
So I looked these up and would like to know if they are compatible with Itunes music files.
All my music is stored via Itunes, however I do have some that is not MP4 format.
Is it possible to convert these if need be, and any other thoughts on the player itself?
8GB for only $90? f*** Yes.
Doing a little research, and as I feared it may be incompatible.
Is there any hope?
If you have ever bought anything from iTunes, and you buy another mp3 player, it's like throwing money away.
It's how Apple gets you, if you don't buy anything from iTunes, you're free to buy another player. If you bought crap, you've thrown money away and Apple gets your cash.
I have the Sansa e250 (the e200 series 2gig) and I have no issues with it.
I like it more than my brother's ipod, my brother likes it better than his ipod.
I read some complaints about the radio feature and it locking up.
1) To get out of the radio just hit the home/power button
2) If it locks up, you don't have to take out the battery as everybody claims, just hold the power button for a while it'll eventually shut down.
And about the formats, you could probably just get a converter to change it to a .mp3
I have no regrets, I love my perches.
If you're worried about compatibility, burn all your m4a files to CD's and rip them back on the computer as MP3's.

Exactly... there are in theory some ways around it but they are massively time consuming. :(
I can always get on BearShare and download like hell for a year.
Only like... $13 or something for unlimited downloads.

Have fun.
I have a Sandisk e260R, although I recently replaced it with a Zune, which I like better.
It's a decent mp3 player...I just had some firmware problems. Like, I had to format it 4 times, it glitched a lot toward the end of my usage of it, and once it scared me by doing something akin to being possessed.
or you could move to canada and download whatever the intercourse you want for free.

I'm mainly concerned about viruses, not the actual downloading.

you generally won't get viruses unless you're being stupid (downloading a file that's supposedly music but a .exe).
Viruses don't come as .mp3 or .flac I'm sure.
Honestly, I think getting something as small as 8 gigs is a bad move. Getting a larger music player, like an 80 gig Zune, seems like a much better value to me in terms of gigs per-dollar. I recently got an 80 gig Zune and I love it. Sometimes the firmware is glitchy and the software you have to install on your computer is intercourse ing awful, but it's easily my favorite music player I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Oh, did it put a song into ultra-fastforward for no reason at all? That happened to me last week, and I basically heard the Alvin & the Chipmunks version of Cream.
are ipod files just simply not compatible with other mp3 players?
because you can take the music on your ipod and put it onto the computer your ipod is linked to

The Zune can play .m4a files.

I have trouble filling up my 2 gig Sansa, how the hell would you need to be carrying 80gigs of media with you?!

How many movies does it take to fill 80gigs?
Even if you had enough to do so in what case do you need to be carrying all of them with you all the time?

Depends on file size, length, and format. I have about 100 movies, 5 or so that are full length, all in .mp4, around 15GB.
I carry them around all the time with me, why get rid of them?

Why keep them? And full length movies are not even one gig. My home folder in Linux is only 26 gigs. No need for 80 gigs of memory on a media player.

if you watch anime and want to use your Zune to do so, you need 80 gigs.

Again, why do you need to carry every episode with you all the time? I've put anime on my 2 gig sansa and had all the songs I needed too.

Because we can? With 80GB of free space, you can afford to keep every anime episode or movie on it.

I spent $250 for my 80GB, and now you can spend $250 for a 120GB. I'm pretty sure that's not a waste of money.

Sure you are getting more gigabytes for a dollar, but you don't need that much space.
Yes, but some people like to have that much space. In my opinion, being able to carry my entire music library plus a few movies is worth the extra money.

Family has had it for a few years, so I think its a pretty safe bet that I'm not going to just not use almost $800 worth of music.

I honestly didn't know 2gig models were made >_>
I have 6 gigs of music, around 2.5 of which I don't listen to. I've got 700MB left on my 4 gig iPod.
Would I like more space? Yes. Would I like 120 gigs? Not really.
Also, If you bought music from iTunes, as many have said before, you're pretty much intercourse ed. I can go find the cracked version of Total Video converter, but to my knowledge, it can't convert protected .wma's, so I dunno about whatever iTunes uses...

This was the first generation nano. It held only 2GB, was error-prone, I hated it.
The Zune 80 made me so happy, you couldn't believe it.
Yeah. I love mine too.
Got a 4 Gb Sansa Fuze, and so far it is fantastic.
Besides the poopload of ripping and burning I did today, it should be smooth sailing.
