This is phase three of The Official King of NSFCD Elections!
In case you haven't been following, this is the voting phase.
During the week of campaigning, all of the nominees were asked to make their cases. Sure, phase two wasn't used to it's fullest extent, but five nominees made an attempt.
VOTE VIA PM. You can post your vote in this thread, but it will not be counted unless I receive a Private Message.Sync, Zovistograt, and Phatyo have been disqualified from the election (they can still vote, but can't be voted for) due to lack of campaign.
HERE IS THE FINAL LIST OF NOMINEES:
JMV
Mackormoses*
Riddler_Rob

Super
*mack gets by on a technicality because mudslinging is actually campaigning.Remember, the winner of this election will receive the King of NSFCD rank and any perks that Super sees should go with it!The following are the nominee's testimonies:

Riddler_RobQuoteHello.
I don't have much to say. But I think it would be good to have some holy santos brought to the site to guard the forums and to bring us good luck. El Santo Nino de Atocha is a good one. My Aunt Cocha has seen him.
And we have a great F.F.A. schedule lined up -- and I'd like to see more of that.
If you vote for me, all of your wildest dreams will come true.
Thank you.
JMV:QuoteVote for me and I will use my increase in awesomeness to bring back a short period of the awesomeness found here in Fall '07.
And now I open the voting. Again, PM me your votes. Once you vote, it is locked. Voting ends October 4th.

Whatever. I'm not voting. ;_;
Considering 60% of us already have full admin, I can't imagine perks. But hey.

It was boring, and you never said you HAD to campaign.
If you noticed, no one really knew they had to campaign, the ones that did were obviously joking around and only said it to get a few laughs, if you said people had to campaign then they would have.
yeah this is dumb as poop, you should reinstate the people you DQ'd
All right, I'm calling you out on the policy of disqualifying people who did not campaign not because I actually care, but because I care about the ideology behind doing this incredibly counterproductive decision.
Every four years, there is an election in the United States for President, where two candidates go head-to-head to get the Presidency--oh yes and about 50 other people who don't get on the ballot. Hey, they're still running. You can still vote for them if you try hard enough. But they're just not on there. Why? Same reason you just gave. And do you know what that leads to? Only people willing to put themselves out there, waving their hands in the air like crazy saying "NOTICE ME!!!!" will actually get any recognition. This makes whatever it is, a presidential election or just a small popularity contest on an Internet forum, a complete fallacy. People are not being chosen because they are what the public wants--they're being chosen because the system let them shut out their competition. That is not fair competition nor is it ethical in the least bit. It is exactly the same as suing a company for not advertising. It's ridiculous.
Honestly, seeing such unethical practices anywhere in today's society, especially in such a forward-thinking place such as the Internet, makes me incredibly angry because it's saying to me that people want to reverse any movements of fair competition and social ethics in the world with no basis.
tl;dr: Rob's decision negates any meaning this election has.

While I could care less, Zovi, as I'm sure you can tell by my hard fought campaign...I have to disagree when you say it negates any merit. There was no merit in the first place. If we were looking for a true King of NSFCD, I'd say we all know who it is - Silver. The man pays the bills, slaves endlessly on here working on stuff, and is generally active. That's the
King. Furthermore, this is not "President", "Most Popular", or anything else. It
is King - autocratic rule. Totalitarian. Nothing more. Rob's thread, Rob's rules. As soon as we all realize this had no true meaning of recognizing the greatest NSF'r, the sooner we'll realize this is just for fun.

Actually, I never did say it had merit in the first place. I meant in the eyes of anybody who thought it did. Regardless, the point isn't what the exact situation is; it's the fact that he made this decision. The actual election now is irrelevant. I'm talking philosophy and ethics here. Any push in the wrong direction, however small, is still a push that can be the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. I'm taking offense purely because it goes against ideals that I feel very strongly about and that others should too if they value their fair say in the world.
It is stupid. Not everybody needs to campaign, and I'm sure not everybody wanted to campaign.
Whether you campaign or not shouldn't affect whether you stay in the competition.
Horrible move by Rob.

Silver can see my PMs if you suspect cheating.
A thread poll can be rigged without being monitored. Someone can make fake accounts just to vote and we wouldn't be able to catch it.
With a PM system, I can make sure that won't happen.
I would have used the poll system if there wasn't expected cheating. You intercourse ed up, so I'm doing it through PMs.

You can delete PMs before he can see them.
Putting candidates in alphabetical order prevents you from swapping candidates to change votes.
Where was the expected cheating? Telling members to login and vote when most had accounts? Nope.
I would think banning someone who was going to vote for me is more cheating than me telling people to login. If you were so worried about fake accounts, couldn't silver check IPs?
So exactly what did I do to "intercourse up" other than get an overwhelming amount of support, which is mostly due to my former position as admin here.

Telling people to sign up to vote for you is where you intercourse ed up. You can't say you didn't do that.
Further, it's not about swapping. Again, fake accounts can be made to vote and you can't check that, since voting in a poll is anonymous. The mods here told me our forums don't have a mod to check that out, it's outdated.
To make sure there is no cheating, I had to do the PM system.
Now trust me or not, I don't delete PMs. Even if I could, I'm sure they're in a database somewhere Silver can check. In fact I'm almost entirely positive they are, if I recall correctly F_H or Bluaki told me about it.

They can be removed from the database. A few members (Rae for example) seem to do it at Boyah.
Geno did it too when I tried to warn him and couldn't prove it since he deleted the PM I was going to warn him for and it was no longer in the database.
