Title: Megaman 10 confirmed
Post by: Nayrman on December 09, 2009, 06:12:05 PM

Yep, Megaman 10 has officially been announced, terrible box art and all. Looks like Protoman will FINALLY have a purpose in the actual game that isn't some appearance for two seconds.

Also, SHEEPMAN!? Are you intercourse ing kidding me!? I know guys like Springman were bad, but you can't make Sheepman without looking completely retarded.

Also, something tells me Bass will be the secret third player. After all he pretty much went unnoticed in MM9 and we still have no real end to his character arc considering how we left him in Megaman and Bass.
Also, the Robotenzia (or whatever it's called) looks SUSPICIOUSLY like going Maverick. Could we FINALLY have any sort of tie in to the X series?!

This is awesome news.

SheepMan sounded weird at first, but we just had a HornetMan who shot hornets at MegaMan, so...

without much a doubt. But you have to get the Wii one for the NES controller like the good old days.

SkyMyl's brain age degenerated into that of a toddler when he finished reading the post. Moreso than anything regarding the Zelda series, which is a first. So, with him being out of commission, I'll speak for him!

Sheep Man looks retarded, and reminds one of the sheep Pokemon from...well, yeah.
Proto Man off the bat is enough to make his brother purchase the game.
This officially makes MegaPhilX's Mega Man 10 an alternate reality, or Mega Man 11.
SkyMyl had a fangasm and fainted, seeing as Mega Man 9 is his favorite among the classic series.
Maybe, just maybe this MM will have a relation to the X series. But the chances are about as slim as Nintendo wising up. Yes, I went where Sky wouldn't.
But Dr. Wily will still be behind the whole ordeal. It IS trying to be retro, after all.
Roll is going to be the third hero.
And Bottle Man is going to be the hardest Robot Master in the series.

Well, I'm done talking about it. I could sit here for hours and hours...but, if you'll excuse me, I have to mop up drool and administer medical treatment. >_>;

Awesome.

While 9 actually had some balance, the balance came at the price of nearly everyone being easy to kill with the Mega Buster. Hell, the only one I haven't perfected at some point is Magmaman, and that's more due to his bullpooply designed room and the fact that he's so big. But whatever, a little more challenge would be nice. And by challenge I mean challenge, not cheap SURPRISE! traps

...and from the description of a stage, we've probably got a sports-related robot master.

So we've got Sheepman, Commandoman (who looks pretty cool but will lead to a BILLION inappropriate jokes), and apparently some kind of "Ratman" (sewer) and "Sportsman" (Ballman?)

So we have two confirmed and two vauge ones.

Fun Fact: It was not Keiji Inafune who designed those robot masters, but the designers themselves.
Way to sound redundant there.

Also, it's been confirmed that MM10 will be released in America in March of 2010. >_>

...not sure where they got that info, but if it's true, I bet she'll be a fortress boss or mid-game boss.

Quote from: TVTropesMega Man Unlimited, by Philippe Poulin (MegaPhilX), is made to bridge the storyline gap between the original Mega Man series and the Mega Man X series. Was originally made under the name of Mega Man 10, but Phil wanted to change the name in case Capcom wanted to make a real Mega Man 10. Unfortunately, he didn't change it soon enough, and confused Capcom USA employees ended up using art and graphic work from Unlimited to promote the real 10.
If this is really true, then someone at Capcom is getting fired, or Phil is getting a new job.
You can't have one without the other, if one of those really does happen.

The only mention of the X series in the classic series is that Bass mentions Zero once and that's pretty much it.

In one of the Power Battle games when you beat the game as Bass, Wiley shows Bass blueprints of Zero, claiming that he's by far the most powerful creation he's ever made without even being completed.

I've always wondered what happened to the original Mega Man as he is never mentioned in the X games and I've always theorized that maybe Zero gets completed within Wiley's lifetime and is used to destroy Mega Man. Dr.Wiley finally succeeds in destroying his enemy but can't control Zero and throws him in stasis. There are tons of holes to fill but I've just played around with them because Capcom can never seem to put together a complete story when it comes to the Mega Man universe.

Can't wait for 10 though

8 per game 1-9 (six in Megaman 1, but Powered Up for the PSP ret-conned in Timeman and Oilman),
so there is 80 right there.
Megaman and Bass had 8 robot masters, but Tenguman and Astroman were re-used from Megaman 8 for no particular reason, so that's six. So we have a total of 86 robot masters.

Now for Megaman 10, we have 8 more, so 94 total after MM10.
So basically after MM11 we'll pass the 100 mark.

I'm just throwing this out there, but if I recall correctly, only Mega Man and 9 had Robot Masters that were made by Capcom.

2-8 were people from Japan sending in Robot Masters that got chosen, save Mega Man 6, which had two Robot Masters that were created by Americans (Wind Man and Knight Man), and 8, which had only two robot masters created by fans.

The "Starforce" as I call them from Megaman 5 for the GB? While it's "cannon" they don't really count since back then no one really counted the Game Boy games of any console based franchise as anything important, basically just the game boy game versions of their console counterparts.
