Question:
Do you think Link should actually talk in the next Zelda game? (like with text bars and everything)
Option 1: Yes
votes: 9
Option 2: No
votes: 47
What do you think?
NO WAY JOSE!!!!
If that happened, i'd press the "Earth selfdestruct" button I have here.
the only time Link talked that was good was in Wind Waker when he said "Come on" this other then little things like that are ok but other wise NO!
Verdict: I think that Link should never talk.
Reason: I believe that when gamers are playing a Legend of Zelda game they get so into it they feel that they are the character, So if Link talked that could ruin that bond.
(Quote from one of the creators of the Zelda series)
It would break tradition. I rather like the idea of him being mute. I know he's really not, but thinking of him being part of the death community makes him unique.
I actually feel more in tune with a character when I can understand his thoughts and feelings.
WELL EXCUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!
I CAN'T WAIT TO BOMB SOME DODONGOS!
GREAT, I'LL GET MY STUFF!
I'M SO HUNGRY I COULD EAT AN OCTOROK!
WHAT ARE THOSE HEADS?!
no.
lol why does it say you can select 2 options?
HELL NO!
oh...darnit I accidentally hit "yes" when I meant "no" could someone please change my vote?
No
No way man.

Exactly. They tried having Link talk once before and it didn't work out one bit.
I think link should never talk it would ruin the game...(For me it would anyway.)
no i just think that would mess with the feel of it

Yup.
*Clicks 'No'*
Hm, I wonder why the four people who hit 'yes' aren't showing their faces in the crowd of 'No's.
No.
The last time he had a voice ruined it for me, thanks.
I'm not entirely sure, but at the end of Phantom Hourglass I think he says one line.
No, he shouldn't talk at all. It would just be to weird.
Na, Link is meant to be a character that cannot talk. Just as said before, Link is meant to be YOU, which is why you can change his name. The series of grunts and all are fine. A little bit of talking would be fine, but as long as he doesn't talk the whole time and utters phrases like "WELL EXCCCUUUUSSSS ME PRINCESS!"

So true.
Link has always rocked as the silent hero. He's a lot more endearing/bad ass that way. But i do like the way that the creators are going with his body language and expressions. Right now he has no need to talk.
Yes for text bar, NO FOR VOICEOVERS (Watch the Zelda Cartoon, play the Non-existent CD-i games and you'll know why.)!
But, the only problem: It would make Link less cool.

Oh, come on! Stop saying this! these weren't made by Nintendo, so who CARES how bad they are, or that the even MATTER?
And maybe I got spoiled by metroid prime 3, but last time i checked, voice acting is WAY better than Text. as long as it's good.

What wasn't made by Nintendo (sarcasm)?
Can I take my vote back? I said yes...but I want to change it back now.
No, I like giving Link his own voice in my head.
I'd have no objections to him talking, but it's not really necessary. Nintendo did an excellent job showing his emotions and what type of character Link was in Twilight Princess just by using facial expressions and body language. If they continue to do that well, words aren't really needed to give Link a personality.
link should never ever talk ever, but i would like the npcs to talk
NO! Look what happened to Sonic. Plus, dont forget those god awful CD-i Zelda games.
Hell no
"HYAT" ftw

What do
I think? no. Link should keep his thoughts to himself. ;D
No. No way.
I would have to say no. Part of the true joy in the game is being able to believe each character sounds the way you want them too. What if they had a voice actor for Link? Well some people may be pleased, but it could ruin everything for those of us who have put our own touch to the way we feel Link should sound.
Well, you COULD say he has talked a bit in his previous games. They were mostly grunts and stuff, but a few sounded almost like words (OoT's adult Link must not like falling very much :P). In WW, Link uttered his first actual words, and nobody seems to be complaining about that one. In TP, if you managed to get all the hidden sword techniques, the wolf/ghost guy who taught them to you mentions being a past hero whom the gods let hang around to train the new one. That might be an example as to how a Link with text speech would be.
I'm not too concerned either way, as I'm sure the guys at Nintendo realize how many people would be upset if Link had a particularly bad voice, so they won't give him one unless it was really good.
On a side note, is it just me or did Link's TP voice set sound a bit wimpy? Maybe it's just me. And why was that golden wolf-dude missing an eyball? I wonder how he lost it... Did you notice he's left-handed just like Link? And where did he get that spiffy armor? It's pretty shiny... O.O

T_S_M_P?! FOR REALZ?!
Talk about a blast from the past!
Anyway, Link's TP voice was okay. It wasn't wimpy, but not too strong either. Nothing beats OoT's falling link.
"EEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"
I mean it's cool to try different things but some things just shouldn't be messed with. Link just becomes a much more interesting character because he doesn't talk. Keep it that way.
