Buddhists may not have engaged in religious war, but they were slave rulers.

In Tibet, before the Chinese liberated the country, the Tibetan monks and their superiors ruled with iron fists over the poor in the country.  The peasants of Tibet were denied access to the outside world, were treated like poop, tortured, used as slaves, and brutally murdered.  Ears were sliced off and hung on the gates of the ruling palace (can't recall it's name at the moment).  Fingernails were used as necklaces.  It was disgusting.

China liberated the Tibetans from this mistreatment around 1930 (after one of the wars between china, india and japan).


If China had never kicked out the Dalai Lama, this treatment would persist to this day.  China's kicking of the Dalai Lama removed their spiritual leader, but it was humanely the right thing to do.

The historical Dalai Lamas were serf rulers and bad people.
