There was a 500k get, simple as that.
I'm certain that the 30k posts lost were not all spam and junk/user deleted posts. I'm positive they're lost posts from one of the forum crashes.
Thus at some point, the stats read "500,000".  This likely isn't it, being that there were posts deleted, but it's the closest we'd find to the actual one, AND it has the plus of actually being the 500,000th post itself.

Rob, the forum crashes erase all traces of those posts.  There really have been 30K posts deleted or are hidden.  So my point stands.  There are not 500,000 posts existing within this forum and our stats have never reached the point of saying so.  Hence when the stats read "500,000" the last post made to achieve that earns the 500K get.  This forum is almost 2 1/2 years old and was incredibly active early on.  There is no reason to doubt that we've lost 30K posts.

Rob missed the point of 500k, it's the point silver gets special privileges as admin for a SMF forum and gets the ability to see a forum on the SMF boards or something like that.

It's to be the first person to set the forum post count stats to 500k, not to post the 500k post

Yet you've spent half this thread commenting on something that's unique to an image board run like 4chan is.  Where the only way to count a post is by its ID number.  An SMF forum does not work that way, as we don't delete posts after so many pages.  The forum post count is the one of the posts in the forum.  Not to mention, we have never actually had 500K within the forum.  Which is the point of the 500K get here.  To reward the person that get's the 500K post in the forums.
