A combination of both of them. To act like Slash, you have to be able to shred on a real guitar, not guitar hero.

And to answer the question about the top hat, you would look a lot more stupid then you think. Trust me.

I suggest Sweet Child O' Mine, it is a lot easier to play then it sound IMO. Learn to play that, and I'll allow you to rock like Slash. :P

Eh, I need a better guitar, first off. I'm using my sister's right now, which is missing a string. >_>

I might get an Epiphone Les Paul for Christmas.  ;D And maybe some lessons after that...? >_<

Also, I know Slash was in GNR. GNR = awesomeness. But, alas, I can't play most of his awesome riffs I wish I could play. :-[

Epi Les Pauls are pretty good guitars for begginers, that's what I started out on.

Just practice, take lessons if you think that it is necessary. I didn't take lessons, and I can play pretty good IMO.
