The most spectacular thing just happened.

A transformer across the road from me just had an extreme surge. The lights in my house went really, really bright then shut off. We looked outside, and the whole other side of the road was bright green because of the transformer's electricity pouring out. Our power came back on in a few seconds, suprisingly. Seems like a surge like that would knock it out completely. The transformer was making a loud buzzing noise. It was like an alien spaceship was landing.

It was epic.
