"It varies per person," Heronn replied with a slight shrug. "I'll let Sweeney mentor you. He needs to exercise some of his skills since he has been out of a real fight for so long." With that, Heronn disappeared.

"Well first, you need to learn how to teleport," Sweeney growled, annoyed at having to go through all his training but now as a teacher.

"Ah good. A replacement for that unworthy Gerodo?" echoed a voice that could not be seen, only heard.

"So, we've lost the Scalander gem, have we?" The voice sounded dissapointed. "Don't tell me it was entrusted to Gerodo? I thought we established that he was only to keep safe the small things worth losing that our higher members had no time to look after!"

"You don't need speed when you can go wherever you want, when you want," Sweeney explained. "Right now we have a limit. But with the gems, we will have all our powers at no cost to ourselves!" Sweeney began laughing maniacly for a moment, before settling down enough to begin teaching Zaronn how to form a portal.

"I know." Kerow said, a frown appearing on his face. "However, it was only going to be for a night. The others more higher up were busy that night, trying to gain the other gems. In all honesty, it was my fault." He bowed down. "I apologize."

"It depends on the amount of power your own body can manifest," Heronn replied. "Newer members tend to make portals once an hour, while veterans can make one every few minutes or so."

"Do not let it happen again, Kerow," the voice replied harshly. "I may show more mercy on you more then the others, but I won't hesitate to perform punishment on those who deserve it. And are we completely sure we can trust this Harver fellow? If he is still carrying that Time Gem around, we should be quick to remove it from his possessions. Only Safekeepers may hold onto the gems. He is no exception."

Kerow nodded. "I understand. However, do you not know of the boy's heritage? Harver holding the Time Gem allows him to further his connection with his ancestor, Lord Emit, giving us more insight on the whearabouts of others. It was he himself who found Ex-Dead Man, Zarani. Do you remember him?"

"Zarani... The one we killed?" the voice asked. "I remember him vagely. Why is he still alive? Well, he must be destroyed. He has powers that can be harmful to us when not used with us, but rather against us."

Sweeney nodded and showed Zaronn how to produce a portal. "Concentrate very hard. The first 100 times you do it, you'll need to focus. After that it seems like 2nd nature."

"Alright then." He held out his hand and thought very herd on producing a portal until finally, he made one but it only lasted for a few seconds. "Whew...That took some work."

"What do you think our next course of action should be, other than obtaining the Scalander Gem?" Kerow asked.

"The Scale gem resides with those pesky brats who continue to get in our way," the echo explained. "The Crescent Gem has rendered useless until that one in their group is killed, and they seem to have no intentions of giving up their fight. Our next and final action should be to raid them. With them gone, we willl have access to both the Scale and Crescent gems. Not only that, but no one will be around to foil our plans, and we can finish looking for the Scalander gem with ease."

Zarani's head dissolved and reappeared, the foot going straight through it. "You're wasting your time, Solon." He said, hardly noticing Lanbar. He touched his temple and in an instant he vanished into a pool of blood. "I can get you like this." He gurgled from the blood.

"Understood." Kerow said. "It is supposed that they are currently docked at Scalus. However, they move a lot in small amounts of time. Should we try to ambush them at their next stop, or try to attack them before they leave?"
