Lanbar ran after Zarani and threw a kick to the head and then went for a low sweep. "Take -hic- that!"

Harver emerged from the portal in what used to be his room on the ship. He heard commotion up on deck. Hmm... my powers have used up a lot of my strength... I should wait a couple minutes.
Whatever you do, don't expect a warm welcome.

Kerow nodded, pouring some champaigne out of a bottle into two glasses to pass the time. "However, Harver also has exceptional prowess. And don't forget that when a Dead Man breaks his vows, his powers are weakened."

[THEBIRD]

"We're back, and we've got the person who killed Gerodo," Sweeney told Heronn. He nodded towards Steph who was gripping Zaronn tightly. "He says he has the Scalander Gem, and he seems to have some power to be able to kill one of us."

"He may be promising," Steph agreed, biting his lip from the pain of not being able to go to the bathroom.

Venice watched the commotion with only mild interest. After a moment of deep thought and lethargy, he walked closer and observed the blood.

[Light]

Kerow placed the bottle on the table, and walked towards Zaronn. "I see. Do you have any idea how much power an item such as that holds?"

[Dr.Hobo2]

"Of course." Zaronn said. "I have another item with great powers." He said showing the Cloud Gem for a split second before putting it back. "I was trying to get this for my previous leader and that's when it struck me that I was just serving a fool." He said starting to walk around. "I realized that, 'hey! I'm on the loosing side right now.' And I didn't like that...Why else would I want to come to you?"

[Light]

Kerow examined him, up and down. "You are clearly lying. I see only the power of the Cloud Gem attached to you." Kerow put his finger to his lips, thinking. "Which means that Gerodo must have lost the Scalander Gem beforehand." He returned his attention to Zaronn. "If you are willing to take up the vows of a Dead Man, then you may join us, seeing as we are one man short." He gestured to Gerodo's dead body.

[Dr.Hobo2]

"Hm...you are very wise my lord." He said bowing to him. "I humblly accept your offer to join the Dead Men."

[THEBIRD]

"You'll need to give up that gem, though," Heronn told Zaronn. "Only our safekeepers may hold onto the gems. I, being one of them, will take that off your hands." Heronn used his wind to blow the Cloud Gem away from Zaronn and right into his own hands and smirked. "Don't worry, being part of the Dead Men gives you power beyond your dreams." Sweeney and Steph both nodded in agreement, smirking as well.

Zaronn could feel the power drain away from his body. "I see." He said to Heronn. "I assume that's how you got the powers of the wind on your side."

[Light]

Kerow nodded. "I believe you three can show the newcomer about his duties, and the vows he must uphold." He looked at the Cloud Gem in Heronn's hands. "Now we only need the Scale and Scalander Gems... then our plans shall be complete." He created a portal on the wall of the study, which lead to an area unknown. "Good luck with your new job, Dead Man Zaronn." He stepped into the portal, and it vanished.

[THEBIRD]

Heronn gave Kerow a curt nod before turning back to Zaronn. "Our Mage gives us power," Heronn replied. "The one thing we need are the gems to harness ultimate power. You'll see in time. After training, you too will get to meet with the Mage for your powers."

"Ah, so that is the purpouse of gathering the gems..." Zaronn said. "and what is the training that I must go through?"

[Light]

Kerow emerged from the portal in what seemed to be a chamber of sorts. "We have a new member."
