I can't possibly see this item being used for anyone other than people who play for fun...

Tournament players will ignore it because you can heal your enemies.

Ive never played a tournament, but it looks like you can get pretty strategic with it...

Don't be sure. And the fact that you can heal your enemies makes it MORE likely to be allowed. They have Friendly Fire on so you can hurt your partner, it's possible they have that item on so you can heal your opponent.

Also, you shouldn't jump to conclusion about items in Brawl, as there are sure to be at least one professional sized tournament with items on when Brawl comes out. For Melee, most of the major tournaments on the west coast were played WITH items until 2004.

I've played ONE tournament! But that was back in my prime! I'm just not the same smasher anymore!

BTW, I got my butt beat in the first round, but the person I played went into the final round! (Lost, but still!)  :O

Cracker Launcher - I guess this would be too.
Crates - Duh! BANNED! :P
Barrels - Duh...AGAIN! :P
Banana Peel - Probably not. BANNED!
Bumper - Probably not. BANNED AGAIN! :P
Pitfall - This might actually make it in!  :O
Smoke Ball - It's pretty much useless. Most likely not going in.
Franklin badge - Definitly banned!
Super Spicey Curry - Most likely banned!
Golden Hammer - WOW! This is probably the most banned item yet updated!
Smart Bomb - This is SECOND most banned item!
Team Healer - Yeah, most likely banned.
