It failed exceptionally hard before all that other nonsense.

The story is too darn predictable.

Place flashbacks at the worst possible times. Dragging out things several hours longer than they should last.

Terrible character development. Tenten is just there wtf? She doesn't even have a last name. Yet they put their sweat, blood and tears into Neji and Lee. Which still didn't too much.
