Are there any shooters on PS2 that are similar to Halo?

Just wondering. I would get Halo if I had a 360, but I don't have the money for one. So I thought there could be one for PS2 with a similar style and gameplay. Does anyone know if there is one like it?

Some people thought Mace Griffin was a little like Halo, but imo it totally sucks.

Even though they're not like halo try Area 51 and Killzone.

that would be killzone not nearly as good as halo though sry :p

If you want an online interactive game with lots of guns and whatnot (Though a lot of CodeNiners, so be aware of them. You can identify them by the fast-fire grenade launchers and red smoke. If you buy and play the game online, you'll see what I mean.), I suggest Socom II, since no one really plays Socom III online, the classical maps are better. It's not futuristic, but it's fun, but really male chauvanistic. I guess that's okay if you're not a female, but I was slightly offended by the language they used because I am one. If you're used to swearing with every other word, or used to hearing it online with a mic, go ahead and buy the game.

Yeah, Killzone in theory is like Halo, but the gap in quality is tremendous.

There aren't a lot of good futuristic shooters for the PS2. The best online shooter game though is SOCOM 3

Killzone is going to be your best bet. Not really futuristic, but a lot more similar in style than MGS or SOCOM.

But if you haven't played the MGS series, go get them and play them now.
