Switching from Medium to Hard in GH3

I skipped Hard.

Honestly. I just tried Expert a few times and beat some of the songs after playing on Medium, and THEN I went to Hard just to beat all the difficulty levels.

If you've got the PS2/X360 version and GH2, play through GH2's Hard Career once or twice. It's a much easier transition.
Simply put, Hard on GH3 is more like GH2's Expert.
And Expert on GH3... don't ask. :B

Hm, for me it was the opposite. I couldn't transition from Medium to Hard on GH II. The nice thing about GH III is that it actually introduces you to altstrumming and HOPOs on Medium. Then the only thing you need to get accustomed to is Position 2 and shifting. On GH2, it was "lol medium is ez ill level up nao" and then you moved up to Hard and they threw 10 million new things at you at once.

Though I suppose that the song difficulty progression in GH III sucks; the Set 2 stuff is easier than the Set 1 stuff. For the most part, things were well-balanced in GH2.
