I'm told people at least on this site and facebook. If you start hating me because of my beliefs whatever the case you're an incredibly shallow individual and I won't respect that kind of attitude.

I've never been bothered. Then again Canada isn't nearly as extreme as the US goes towards religion.

I wouldn't call the US extreme. I'd call Saudi Arabia or China extreme.

I'm Christian, but starting to get a bit agnostic. I don't give a poop if you sin or aren't Christian. Jesus taught us to accept everyone, as a child of God. Even if they don't believe in God. If you hate Atheists, you're a false Christian.

Though, this intolerance isn't one sided. On many parts of the internets (not here, though), there's an Atheist majority. And a lot of these Atheists make fun of Christians and think that ALL of us are intolerant bigots (Quite ironic amirite?). Really pisses me off, because at those places, Christians don't hate Atheists.

I should have referred to the extremist views of select religious offshoots of christianity (i.e. evangelicals and the like).

That's what I was referring to anyways. At least the religious extremists have less power in this country.

I don't hate christians or anyone of a specific religion. That would be incredibly shallow and closeminded. I only hate ignorant theists, and even then I'd rather have a little discussion or argument rather than say "you guys are idiots". Otherwise I'm perfectly fine with you believing whatever it is that you do.

I wish more people could be tolerant of one another, and not just in religious matters.

Why wouldn't it be? Here's someone that has found others that disagree with a belief that up until recently was something that you could not have without being completely shunned or killed. ;)
