My car has a bit of transmission weirdness goin' on. I've got 2 Drives. Drive, and Overdrive. I usually drive in Overdrive because it gets slightly better gas mileage, or so I've heard. However, half the time when I come to a complete stop, whenever I try to go again, my car acts like it's in Neutral, so I end up revving the engine and going nowhere. Not good. After a few seconds, it'll catch and lurch forward and all that.

It sounds like an Automatic if it only has 2 gears, so you say. I'd say start in regular drive and then switch, see if that works.
