I had already uninstalled it, but the folder was still there.

Well no poop, if you're running Windows, you can't rid of it.  Besides there are several programs that access the internet via IE, as poopty of a browser as it may be.

You can't delete Internet Explorer through normal means, if you use Windows 98/98SE you can buy a program called 98 lite, which lets you delete anything you want. If you use 2k/XP you can get XP lite for the same effect.
