QuoteObama has encouraged Democrats to reach out to evangelicals and other church-going people, saying, "if we truly hope to speak to people where they're at—to communicate our hopes and values in a way that's relevant to their own—we cannot abandon the field of religious discourse."

quote from wikipedia.

I hope so btw...

I don't know but it sounds like he's trying to get the "religious vote" That sentence to me though doesn't sound like he is for the separation of church and state?

So he wants the state out of the church and no religious puppet officials.

Good plan.

"We should pull our troops out of Iraq." "We should put more troops into Iraq to win this war." "We need to bring our boys home." "If we send more in we can beat them."

Course this is not direct quotes, but the fact that he says he wants them out, then put them back in, just to sway a vote makes me a bit skepticle.
