Mother 1+2 came in the mail today.

Now I have Earthbound, Mother 1+2, AND Mother 3. The whole trilogy. It's awesomeness, by the way.

Mother 3 may be the best of the series. It's absolutely perfect.

But I can't read Japanese, so I won't be able to read all the quirky little jokes and stuff that made Earthbound so great.

That's one disadvantage of importing quirky games. You don't get the humor.

Fortunately, though, Mother 3 is very well animated and has a lot of emotion in just the movements the characters make. You can tell what's going on without reading, but you still can't read the jokes.

From what I've read about the storyline in Mother 3, it doesn't really matter if you can't read all the jokes, because it's much more dramatic than either of the other two. The translation patch is almost done, but I'm not sure how to apply that to the game.
