It got delayed 4 weeks in America and one in Japan.  If translation is the only problem, then wouldn't the new dates still be the same number of days apart?  Or was Sakurai not originally planning to translate the game and just give us the japanese version?

That's a little harsh... the only way we'll know for sure that he hates us is if Lucario or Ray 01 don't make it as playable.  Or if Pacman does make it. *shudders*

You guys don't get what I mean:  Sakurai was already planning on translating it, so the delay of one week for Japan, yet 4 for America, shouldn't have anything to do with translating.  If that was the problem, then why not 4 weeks for both versions, or 1 week for both versions?

Because he doesn't need to translate the Japanese one. Even if he has been working on the translation since the very start, it would still take longer.

The whole thing is probably NoA's fault, and Sakurai delayed Japan's game so we wouldn't be too angry about a region specific delay.
