So I just found out one of my best friends has tried to kill himself.

There are a few things that you can do:

1. Be there for him

2. Have him seek help from a shrink

3. keep tabs on him

Those are a few things that I can pull outta my ass. The only thing that people who try to commit suicide do not take into consideration is the lives that one taken life can mess up. I had some friends that went to scouts with me that had their dad die (I think he shot himself) but he did not think of the impact it would have on the family. Suicide is kinda selfish if you look at it.

It is. I have no sympathy for people who commit suicide. Or attempt it. They just think about themselves and escaping the world. They never think of their family, or the people that find them.

But then, I feel its their choice . If they are sick of living and have no more fun in life, then I suppose you shouldn't stop them.

Unfortunatly suicide is the easy way out. I would rather work through my problems, I can't and wont put my family through that.

Tell him we would all (meaning family, friends, ect.)  miss him if he killed himself. Make sure he thinks of his family first before himself.

But I will NEVER EVER commit suicide.

anyways, tell him that if he killed himslef, tell him to think of all the things that are good in life, and think about how his family/friends would react, tell him, he shouldn't put himslef before the ones he cares about....

Anyways if anything I wouldn't really get involved, just be there to help him when he needs it, but otherwise if you get to into it, he will grow dependent on the attention he gets for trying to kill himself, and/or eventually hurt you or someone you know.

He actually doesn't like to draw attention, so I doubt that'll happen.

You also said he wasn't the type to try and commit suicide. =|

Okay, I can understand that that'd be a total shocker.  Wow, 2 days in a row I have heard of friends that have either 1. accidentally killed themselves. and 2. friends that have tried to kill themselves.
