Gary retired... Anyway the three best in no particular order are Pearles Before Swine, The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes.
I know, and the cartooning world took a huge hit. But I have The Complete Far Side box set deal, so he lives on. :P

My friends have a book of the farside. One of the best comics ever made.

I've actually read some of those comics and they were pretty funny (friendly hostility)
My favorite real comic would be Calvin and Hobbes, no contest (i haven't read 'The Far Side so i can't judge that)

Wow everyone hates VG cats :(....I personally like it, probably because I have a weird taste i things....I put sunflower seeds on my Turkey sandwiches :P

I enjoy not only the humor, but the art style as well. It's still my favorite webcomic from over the years. Also, that's actually the spin off from her first series, Boy Meets Boy. Looking back at those, you can really see how her style has improved over the years.

And Calvin and Hobbes is up there for me for print comics.

You people really haven't tried enough horrible webcomics if you think VGCats is the worst. It's not good, but there's far worse.

Boston and Shaun, people. Try reading it and you'll see why I said it was the worst.

vgcats isn't bad, it used to be really good, but now it's really infrequent, the guy is busy, and it's really hit and miss.

Best: PBF and Penny Arcade (when it's about videogames except WoW).

Worst? I think this is pretty hard to compare, since horrible webcomics come in droves. Probably of the prominent ones off the top of my head, CAD and Shredded Moose are pretty horrible. VGCats is bad most of the times, but not really as bad as much as it is really cheesy.
