I have a new nano 8GB.  I love it.  Don't have a huge music collection though, so I stuff it with videos.

8GB is enough for a bunch of H.264 videos?

I don't watch long videos, or in terribly high quality. :P

I use it for the music that I have, but I don't use my Ipod very often.  usually for boring physics classes, boring driving trips (which aren't that terribly long in the first place) and not much else.

And get it in silver, not black. Everyone has the black one.

f*** you. I wanted black so I got black.
Congratulations. You just ordered from Apple Inc. Now go choke on a bowl of dicks.

:D I couldn't keep a straight face.

Congratulations. You're the epitome of idiocy and you should kill yourself to rid us of your blatant dumbassery.

I kept a straight face.

Tiny screen is tiny.
320x240 is perfectly fine for videos.

If I wanted to go nuts and put my entire .mp4 collection on an 8GB, I'd need a new one quickly.

I've had three of them.

The first two I had to exchange because there were problems, but the third one I got works perfectly fine. The first shipments were probably having problems.

Anyways, the thing works fine and does what you need it to do, so you should like it.

I could probaby squeeze in a lot of my video, but I mainly use XviD.

I just use .mp4 so that I can put videos on *most* modern video players, like a PSP or Zune.

I recommend you get the Ipod Classic 80 GB because I'm preatty sure you will not run out of space and its a lot thiner then the 160 who look like the same size as the original ipod.

Yeah, but a lot of my stuff is anime fansubs that were Xvid/MP3 to begin with. Although when I rip DVD's, I usually do an H.264/AAC one for my computer, and an XviD/MP3 one for my Zen.

Yeah, I've heard similar stories from reviewers who bought them soon after they first came out. Software updates and such have fixed a lot of the problems early reviewers talked about, such as nonresponsive click wheels.

I use Handbrake for normal DVDs, and then Magic DVD Ripper for PAL DVDs.

DVD Decryptor to break the encryption and rip an ISO, Handbrake to convert it to a normal video.
