So yeah, those iPods.

Thinking about getting one. Until now I've been lazy and never really got into the whole iPod/Zen/Zune thing, mainly because I didn't listen to music much on the go, rather just mostly in my room with my laptop.

However, that's starting to change, and I feel the need to get an iPod or something like it.

My current iTunes collection is over 10 gigs, and I still have yet to import all my CDs, so a nano is basically out of the question, no matter what generation it is.

So I turned my sights to the Classic. I encountered some reviews of it that are less than favorable...some click wheel stuff, slower response overall, etc...but nothing too big to worry about.

But then...the reviewer on Amazon that criticized it came back later saying that he got his Classic replaced with a new one and his new one works much better in generally every way.

So...was the Classic updated? Does anyone here have a Classic and wouldst thou recommend it to a 19-year-old bucket of hormones such as myself?

AND NO I'M NOT BUYING AN IPOD TOUCH LKJ;LKJ

I'm getting the 80GB, because my video collection is fairly large.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm open to recommendations for Zunes or Creative Zens instead, but...I dunno, me having a PC as a primary computer is likely to change in the near future, so a Zune might end up being useless in less than a year for me.

I recommend getting a Sansa Connect. :B
4GB + microSD expansion.

Wouldn't that require me to keep switching SD cards for different parts of my collection?  :robotindifferent:

hi

I'd go for the 160 GB.
Only $100 more than the 80GB, and it's double the space.

I thought about that, but at this point I don't think I'd need that much. Even 80 is a surplus, really. I probably won't ever use more than 40 with just music, and I don't plan on keeping very many movies in there either.

If there was a 60 GB that would be like perfect, but there isn't, so 80 is good.

8GB worth of storage isn't enough?

Why does everyone insist on putting their entire collection on their MP3 players? You're not going to find the time to listen to all of that darn music.

Because sometimes having your whole music collection on your MP3 player gives you more options as to what you can listen to at any given time.

You have a collection of CDs (or music files on your computer) and yet if you have a large amount then you're not going to listen to all of it at once are you?
No, but there's no sense in paying for the uneeded storage space.

Sir, I listen to music almost every hour of the day that I'm awake.
