Well, 5 hours ago.  She's in the hospital at this moment, in the emergency ward.  At the time we got there, she seemed to know who we were, but couuldn't hardly make a noise or hardly respond.  They managed to successfully complete the tests in time to get a drip of a special medication to help restore brain function, at last I saw her (15 minutes ago due to rush hour), she was beginning to talk, and was fairly responsive.  I also have learned today the symptoms of stroke, since she lives with me and my family.

Oh, what a shock.  I was almost bawling because it was stressful and such a big shock.  Although she's frotnately doing better, despite her mild alzhimers (called dementia) and the fact she's nearly 80.  Have any of you had such a shock that struck you this badly?  I mean, if you live with the person, it's hard on you.  REALLY HARD :'(

Umm... My older brother going to prison for two years. But that wasn't really shocking because I told the cops where he was...

Hmm... I guess when my grandma fell in the middle of the night and broke her ribs and toes. That was a few weeks ago and she has already fully recovered.

That reminds me, a few years ago my grandmother (same one.  She's almost invincible!) fell and only hurt her nose, got black and blue all over the face, and suffered minor trauma.  also, she has such bad arthtitis in one of her knees it's almost surprising she could actually walk!

She's a strong one.  I have a good feeling she'll get through this, though.

Well, fortunately, she's beginning to do better.

Though she still needs to stay at the hospital for a few days.

My uncle died of liver cancer and my grandmother also had a stroke, but she's okay now.

You are lucky. My Grandmother died from Lung Cancer...they thought it was a blood clot, but it wasn't.

Then 1 year ago, my Grandfather died of a Heart Attack in Puerto Rico (Ever since my Grandmother died, he was going there during the winter.)...

You are lucky Red7js.

Over half of my moms side of the family has died of cancer. I think only my mom, her sister, and their mom and dad are left.

Well I hope she get better. Seriously though just be glad she is strong and dealt with such problems before. My grandma died because of cancer... your grandma survived a stroke. That's a miracle to me since half of my real life is nothing but stuff like that which leads to death and me having to see it every day (seriously my mom works in a church when somebody dies she tell the priest and comes home to tell us :|).

Super

Makes you wonder how much longer she'll live, eh?

Wow, that sucks. Sorry to all those who knew cancer victims, too. My grandma on my Dad's side died a few years back (I don't remember of what). But my Grandma on my Mom's side is still going strong. She's about 80-ish, and she's still volunteering and working! :O
