hidden hidden characters? *spoilers galore!*

Some time ago I heard about how some guy got into the games files and stuff, and in them he found the name of seven hidden characters not found on the final roster.
My question is:
is there anymore info on this?
and what were the seven characters?

There were files (Roy being one of them) that were in the games memory but not in the actual game.

It isn't fake Hector it's just that none of it was used.

We heard about that a loooooong time ago when we found the missing music.

But they are really just little fragments... not really anything useful.

I'm pretty sure they were the characters removed from melee, excluding Pichu. But that isn't 7. Don't know the rest.

They used old code from Melee didn't they?
That would account for missing characters data.... maybe...

I believe Mewtwo was in there also.  Just him and Roy were the melee veterans of the 7.

What's funny is that my older brother made a joke saying that "They should have had a Toon Zelda and a Toon Shiek."

Also, I'm sad Roy didn't get back in. He was one of my mains in Melee. :'(

Seeing a Toon Shiek being playable would be awful.  That's a horrible character idea and they made the right choice of excluding her with Toon Zelda.

The clones were in to help program their counterparts. For instance, Roy was in to help program Marth and Ike.

The toons were in as experiments to see how much they could tweak a character with various effects, nothing more than a test (as far as I know)

Dixie and Plusle/Minun are not 100% confirmed due to them having different names, not even Japanese match. It is speculated they were merely cut, much like Meowth, Balloon Fighter, etc.
