I was also in the first grade, about to go to school. Then I heard about the first plane crashing, but I didn't really care, and saw the second plane crash on the news. I then pretended to be scared and used that as an excuse to take the day off. :)

I was in school. The 3rd grade, Hell actually. I hated that grade. My teacher told us to shut up and do our work. She didnt even care about the lives lost in the inncedint.

Maybe she knew you or your classmates were not ready to hear what was really going on. All the death and caos that was going on. Why the extremist group was doing that. Etc etc.

She told us stories up terrorists and the like a few weeks before 9/11. She wouldnt even let us listen to the radio.

I was in 4th Grade, brushing my teeth, and getting ready for school. Hm, I remember the teacher bringing it up, and trying to figure out what was going on later that day.

I think i was in 3rd grade, when i first saw the video's on the news i thought it was a movie. I guess my mind couldn't understand then that someone would do something like that in real life.  Then after that i remember my teacher talking about it. I remember kids in my class after that said some of them could see the smoke from their house....

I was in school, my mom had to come pick me up. I was young at the time, I was just happy to get out of school. That is, until I realized what actually happened.
the same for me.

Also, we were learning about apples, so we ate them that day.  :-\

I was in Montreal. My mom came to pick up early that day even thought we were in a noter country. My dad at the time was working in New York and said he saw it happened. I was freaked out and my mom let me stay home the day after that I was a happy kid =) Not till later in life I realised why she did that :/

I remember it like it was yesterday, I was in 10th grade sitting in the back of the room in some media literacy  class with two friends, and over the PA the principal said "Good morning this is Miss. Stone, I've just received some very disturbing news, a plane has just hit the world trade center, and there has been unconfirmed reports of explosions at the White house and Pentagon" they would not tell us anything after that, needless to say everyone was freaked out

The plane that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania was going to crash into the White House.

We were in social studies or something.  They just turned on a radio for a little while, then turned it back off and made us go back to work.
