the GC's graphics were superior, but only marginally, and most developers didn't use that to their advantage, meaning games generally looked the same on the GC as the PS2 (RE4 & ToS being exceptions, obviously)

Yea, you're classmates are pretty dumb. At least they acknowledge the other system's existance tho. My school is filled with nothing but "ZOMG JOIN MY WoW PARTY!" or "Halo iz teh grahtest gahmee EVA!!!11!".
Only me and a few other people actually play something besides Halo, Wow, or Gears of War at my school.
