I was online the other day and discovered a old system that showed an illiusion to create 3d effects.Did anyone else hear of this, or old enough to use it at any point in time? The virtuual boy made two images of a different color, when you looked through 3D glasses or something, you can see the 3D effect. The game paused itself to prevent eyesore. :O
Who knew?!Other games used a bunch of polygons to make the game look 3D. Like SSB. You can see now the squares in it making it 3D
;D

Of course I've heard of it. Most of us have. A friend of mine used to have one, and I can't say I enjoyed it much. It was way too big and heavy to be "portable," as Nintendo called it back then.

Heard of it?

I've tried to own one on several occasions.

Virtual Boy? My god, that thing was an eye seizure machine! :O I liked how things in the games were 3D like a 3D movie, but the screens were red, and the console looked like a giant Viewmaster on a tripod, with a Genesis controller!

I've never played a VB, but that must be a good thing.

Thanks to mackormoses for this badass sig!

Oh Lord no. You did not bring that up.

That thing had no head strap, everything looked red, it was a seizure in a box that burned your eyes, and it looked like s***!

Didn't sell very well.

I've heard of and seen one, but never really used one. It looks weird.
"Many people see technology as the problem behind the so-called digital divide. Others see it as the solution. Technology is neither. It must operate in conjunction with business, economic, political and social system."

Oh Yeah! I forgot about the virtual boy!

*Adds Virtual Boy to list of rare systems I plan on getting*

To some people.

Okay, the seizure in a box part was an exaggeration. It just hurt your eyes, and you felt like you were taking an eye exam.

Your forgetting ONE thing in your statement: what are the GAMES like!

Games make a system lengendary! The PS3 can be as GRAPHICALLY SUPERIOR as it wants, but if it has like NO GOOD GAMES AT ALL (Which is the case), nobody's going to want one!

If a Virtual boy has INCREDIBLY crappy graphics, but INCREDIBLY awesome games, I really wouldn't care that my eyes felt like fire. It would SO be worth it!

So, basically, tell us about the GAMES MAN!

Sorry for a big bump, but the games...

The graphics were the same for basically ALL the games! Red, Polygonish, 3D-ish, but it wasn't called 3D Boy, it was called VIRTUAL Boy! Imagine Water World...on Virtual Boy! I'll search for a few videos to show you.

It actually had a few games. I'll list them:

Warioland
Mario Tennis
Mario Clash
3D Tetris
Panic Bomber
Red Alarm
Teleroboxer
Nester's Funky Bowling
Galactic Pinball

That's what, 9 games? Only 14 games were released in the USA, and those were the good ones.

It's almost worth the eyestrain for those games.
